It was a great turnout for both St. Cloud Lodge our Lodge. Again, congratulations to all the Officers. We have just begun. As stated in my speech, two things must happen: Believe in your Lodge Never Give Up. We have so much to gain by doing just little things. Membership is just one of the key items to focus on. Be positive when you are talking to prospective new members. Negativity never gets you anywhere in life. We have a lot of new members on committees so please give them a chance an opportunity to lead do what they can. Respect these individuals who have stepped up to the plate. I ve already heard some great ideas from committee members. One of the things that I am doing with all my committees is making sure we communicate effectively. I ve asked each committee to give me a summary of what their goals are this year how they plan on carrying out achieving them. I will listen to all hear what people are saying. Even the little things you say or do can make a tremendous difference in our Lodge. We have several things coming up including planning for new members to come in with guests for an open house old members to come in to bring prospective new members. What is an Elk? It is an individual who believes in God who is an American citizen. Look around you d be amazed at who you see. Talk about what the Elks Organization does for kids, veterans the community. Anyone can volunteer at the Lodge, go to nursing homes, Vets homes community events. Everyone has a God given talent. It may be talking one s leg off, making phone calls, cooking baking, running errs for those who are unable. Think about it. How can you volunteer? Ask ye shall receive. The reason most people never achieve their dreams is because they simply give up. Life was never meant to be easy it s a constant struggle, with extreme lows extreme highs. Remember that the times when it s most important to persevere are the times that you will be most tested. Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than one with all the facts. And now for the Elk of the Month This individual has sacrificed a lot of their personal time to help out whenever they ve been asked. With a full-time job on the House Committee again this year, many hours are put into this individual s day. This individual has a smile for all loves to joke with the bar rats who come in give her a hard time especially the Monday Night Club. I Congratulate Patty McCoy who goes the extra mile to make all welcome at the Lodge. Thank you, Patty, for being a true Elk.
