We will have PC with Windows XP, Office XP, USB, CD reader, Internet connection and video projector. The PPT should be in English. If You have problems presenting in English we can arrange translations. But in this case You will have half time to present and we expect a text version of your presentation in English (max characters), which will be read by us. 5. Post Conference Program Saturday, April 25, :30 14:00 Lunch 14:00 20:00 Tour to Teleki-Bolyai Library, Târgu Mureş Traveling by bus to Târgu Mureş (100 km from Cluj-Napoca) Visiting the oldest public library of Transylvania: The Teleki-Bolyai Library (guide in English) Traveling by bus to back Cluj. In the last few years the city has been developing rapidly and nowadays it is one of the most important economical, tourist and cultural center of Transylvania. You can find one of the best city maps on the website: (please navigate to City maps / Cluj-Napoca) Accommodation facilities vary from the budget guesthouses to the 4-5* hotels. You can find below some suggestions of accommodation which are within walking distance from the venue of the conference, but please visit the other websites enclosed for more possibilities. Guesthouse: Right next to the venue of the conference you can find the Heltai Gáspár Foundation s guesthouse. A room with 4-6 beds, shared or en suite bathrooms and breakfast costs 10 per person. o Budget accommodation: The Retro Youth Hostel combines an excellent location and good quality lodgings. This hostel lies close to the centre of the city and you can reach it with a ten minutes walk from the venue of the conference. The prices vary between per person depending on the type of the room. The breakfast is not included in the price, it costs 4. `The happy, superbly run Retro is one of Romania s best hostels.` (Lonely Planet) o 3* Pension: Within short walking distance from the venue of the conference is situated Pensiunea Mora. This pension is very close to the famous Botanical Garden. A single room costs 26, a double room 32. o 3* Hotel: Fullton Hotel is located in the historical centre of the city. The cheapest double room with en suite bathroom and breakfast costs 45. This hotel is situated at a 20 minutes walk from the venue of the conference. o 4* Hotel: Hotel Agape is one of the best places to stay in Cluj Napoca. The comfortable and tastefully furnished guestrooms are equipped with minibar, telephone, color television with satellite programs, internet access, air 5

6 conditioning, central heating and safe box. There are a variety of restaurants as well such as self-service, a la carte restaurant, pizzeria. A double room with matrimonial or two single beds costs 73. o For more information on accommodation and other facilities please visit Getting to Cluj-Napoca: By Air: The number of passengers flying to Cluj-Napoca has doubled this year compared to the last year. Four national air companies have regular flights to and from Cluj-Napoca: Carpatair ( Lufthansa ( Malév ( Tarom ( The Wizzair is a low cost air company which established last year a base in Cluj Napoca and operates many regular flights to different countries from Europe ( The airport is 8km to the east of the city centre. One of easiest ways to get around is to take Bus 8 which runs all day long from the bus station just out of the parking area of the airport to the Piaţa Mihai Viteazul Square. It is a good idea as well to take a taxi from the airport to the centre which costs about 5. The best international online timetable is at or A one-way ticket from Budapest to Cluj-Napoca costs approximately 30. By Coach: Eurolines ( is the largest international transport company which runs scheduled buses to Romania. Several local bus companies run daily buses to several international destinations, but mostly to Budapest (to the Ferihegy Airports as well). Since there does not exist a complex timetable, please contact us for more information on getting to Cluj Napoca by coach. A new possibility is traveling by Orange Ways ( especially from Budapest to Cluj Napoca. The prices are low, but the services and the comfort on their buses are on the highest level. By Car: To calculate the best route to Cluj-Napoca please use the online route planner Just for orientation the distance between Budapest Cluj-Napoca is 400 km. In Transylvania no motorways have been finished yet, but Cluj-Napoca is easy to reach on `national road` E60 which is in good condition with heavy traffic. Money: In 2007 a new currency was introduced in Romania: the New Romanian Lei (RON). At current rate 1 values 4.3 RON. There is an excellent online currency converter on Do not forget that in Romania it is not possible pay with euro or dollars. It is easy to change money in banks or there are several exchange offices. In case of changing money in an exchange office always ensure that there is written somewhere next to the rates that `COMISION 0%` or `NU PERCEPEM COMISION`. This means that they will not charge you for changing money. When changing money you will be asked to show your passport or ID. 6

7 Please be aware of men hanging around the exchange offices who may offer you a better rate, because you will be cheated almost for sure. Never use their services. In the city you can find several ATMs which accept Cirrus, Plus, Visa, MasterCard or Eurocard. These cards are accepted in most of the hotels, shops and restaurants as well.
