2 BSB40215 Certificate IV in Business We offer the Certificate IV in Business as an online course. Students have access to a variety of learning materials including YouTube Videos, Links, Files, Learning Guides, interactive crosswords and quizzes, forums, journals and support. To achieve BSB40215 Certificate IV in Business, 10 units must be successfully completed: 1 Core unit and 9 Elective units. Core Units BSBWHS401 Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirements This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to implement and monitor the organization s work health and safety (WHS) policies, procedures and programs in the relevant work area in order to meet legislative requirements. Suggested Elective Units BSBADM405 Organise meetings This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to organise meetings including making arrangements, liaising with participants, and developing and distributing meeting related documentation. Prerequisite Unit(s) Prerequisite Unit(s) BSBCUS403 Implement customer service standards This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to contribute to quality customer service standards within an organisation.it applies to individuals who may be frontline managers, team leaders or supervisors who have responsibility for ensuring that customer service systems and customer service standards are implemented. BSBCMM401 Make a presentation This unit covers the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to prepare, deliver and review a presentation to a target audience. BSBITU402 Develop and use complex spreadsheets This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to use spreadsheet software to complete business tasks and to produce complex documents. BSBLED401 Develop teams and individuals This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to determine individual and team development needs and to facilitate the development of the workgroup. BSBRSK401 Identify risk and apply risk management processes This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to identify risks and to apply established risk management processes to a defined area of operations that are within the responsibilities and obligations of the role. BSBFIA402 Report on financial activity This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to effectively analyze the workplace in relation to environmentally sustainable work practices and to implement improvements and monitor their effectiveness. BSBWRT401 Write complex documents This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to plan documents, draft text, prepare final text and produce documents of some complexity.

3 BSBPMG522 Undertake project work This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to undertake a straightforward project or a section of a larger project. This unit addresses the management of projects, including developing a project plan, administering and monitoring the project, finalizing the project, and reviewing the project to identify lessons learned for application to future projects. Delivery Methods Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Online learning Self Paced Traineeship* / Onsite Workshop Delivery (* Eligibility requirements apply) by arrangement only Description This qualification is suited to those working as administrators and project officers. In this role, individuals use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base to apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems and analyze information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others. Job roles Administrator Project Officer. Prerequisite Requirements There are no prerequisites for entry to this qualification. Training Course Outcomes Candidates successfully completing the course will receive a Certificate IV in Business. Candidates who partially complete the course will receive a Statement of Attainment for the units of competency that they have successfully completed. Duration Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) / Distance Self Paced / Onsite Workshop Delivery Candidates undertaking this qualification by RPL, Distance Self Paced, or Onsite Workshop Delivery Training have up to 12 months to complete this qualification. An extension for up to 3 months can be purchased should further time be required to complete the qualification. Traineeship* The program is delivered over a maximum period of 24 months (full-time), or 48 months (part-time) as a traineeship. Workforce Training & Development recommends an average time of 12 months for the training of this qualification. Delivery Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) A formal process for recognising skills and knowledge, RPL takes into account previous studies you may have completed as well as life and work experiences. You may be granted credits or exemptions for some units in this course.

4 Distance Self Paced (Online Course) The training program is delivered via online self-paced learning. Candidates are guided through the program with the assistance self-paced learning materials, and support from an instructor from Workforce Training & Development. Traineeship* / Onsite Workshop Delivery The training program can be delivered via work place based learning and/or onsite workshop delivery by arrangement. Candidates are guided through the program with the assistance of an instructor from Workforce Training & Development and the workplace supervisor. Workforce Training & Development will make regular contact with Trainees and the workplace supervisor as agreed with the employer and the candidate. It is a requirement of the program that all Trainees are to be withdrawn from routine work duties for a minimum of 3 hours per week averaged over four week cycle, for the purpose of structured training. Assessment Assessment is used to provide candidates with feedback on their progress and to measure their skills and knowledge against the training qualification requirements and those of the industry. Assessment of competency is through the collection of a range of evidence. Candidates will be required to complete a range of assessment activities including written assessments, oral questioning, projects, workplace observations, case studies and third party reports. The assessment process may require some time away from the workplace to complete assignments and self-directed exercises. Qualification Pathways Pathways into the qualification Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include: BSB30115 Certificate III in Business or other relevant qualification/s OR With vocational experience assisting in a range of environments providing administrative or operational support to individuals and/or teams but without a formal business qualification. Examples of indicative job roles for candidates seeking entry based upon their vocational experience include: Accounts Clerk Customer Service Advisor Clerk E-business Practitioner Legal Receptionist Medical Receptionist Office Administration Assistant Student Services Officer Word Processing Operator. This breadth of expertise would equate to the competencies required to undertake this qualification.

5 Pathways from the qualification After achieving this qualification candidates may undertake: A range of Diploma level qualifications within the BSB07 Business Services Training Package, or other Training Packages.
