This year s Summit will help you find purpose and direction in your health and wellness strategies. Through the leadership and expertise of our presenters and formats that offer great learning opportunities, you will discover methods to increase effectiveness and returns on your health and wellness programming, including, managing workers compensation costs, building on-site programming, utilizing your HRA and coaching programs, ways to measure your return on investment and implement evidence-based practices, strategies and programs and so much more. Organizations of all sizes and industries will find a benefit in the information and resources shared at this conference. This Summit focuses on employers, business owners, community advocates and individuals who take aggressive action toward implementing wellness programs. Effective wellness programs decrease healthcare costs, increase awareness for both low- and high-risk employees, and reduce absenteeism, which can save the company and the community thousands of dollars. These are issues facing area worksites, communities, homes and families. By pooling resources, Ministry and collaborating partners can decrease the impact these issues have in our community. This presentation will explore the link between worksite culture and health behaviors, as well as showcase strategies, best practices, and resources for creating a strong culture of health and wellness that will motivate, engage and address recruitment and retention of your employees. Session 2: Adopting and Retaining Wellness Plans The Legal Pitfalls Associated with Drafting and Operation of Wellness Plans Robert Simandl Bob will cover the do s and don ts of designing, implementing and administering wellness plans. From non-discrimination to affordable care to disability and wage and hour, several government agencies have gotten into the kitchen to assist employers with wellness plan operations. 4 OVERVIEW AGENDA PRESENTERS Ministry Health Care Gavin Quinnies, President & CEO, US HealthCenter, Inc., Population Health Management Solutions, PredictiMed Analytics, is responsible for the day to day operations of the US HealthCenter, Inc. Mr. Quinnies earned his B.S. in engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Mr. Quinnies started his career developing artificial intelligence, automated process planning, and intelligent networks in the aerospace industry. Then, before co-founding US HealthCenter, Mr. Quinnies operated a consulting company for Quality, Safety, Health and Life Sciences. His largest client was IBM, contributing to an international pharmaceutical life cycle management practice and system currently being sold to international pharmaceutical companies. KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Sean Foy, is an internationally renowned and award winning authority on fitness, weight management and healthy living. As an author, exercise physiologist, behavioral coach and speaker, Sean has earned the reputation as America s Fast Fitness Expert. With an upbeat, positive and sensible approach to making fitness happen, even with the busiest of schedules, he has taken his message of simple moves fitness all over the world. Sean s appeared on ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS and other popular national television outlets and has spent the last 25 years testing, researching and sharing his findings on how to crack the code to making fitness work and maximizing potential. Full schedule will be available soon. Dan Held, is the Workers Compensation Claims Specialist in the Milwaukee office of M3 Insurance. He leads the agency s efforts to manage clients Workers Compensation claims. In this role, Dan develops M3 s claims processing procedures, and directs and supports claim management activities. Dan earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He has been working in the insurance industry for over 15 years. He started his career with Liberty Mutual Insurance as a multi-line claims adjuster. He then moved on to work in risk management for Waukesha County, managing its Workers Compensation and safety programs. Most recently, Dan was Claim Supervisor for AmComp. He joined M3 in Dan is a licensed agent in Wisconsin for Property and Casualty insurance. Robert J. Simandl, is a founding member and principal at Simandl Law Group, S.C., has over 25 years of experience advising clients on a wide range of employee benefit, labor and employment law issues. He has extensive experience in advising employers in employee benefit plan design, issues associated with ill and injured workers, labor negotiations and maintaining union-free status, and multi-employer health and welfare and pension plan vulnerability and compliance. Mr. Simandl is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and is also a certified public accountant. He is the author of the Family and Medical Leave Law Compliance Manual (1993) and co-author of The COBRA Guide: COBRA Compliance for Wisconsin Employers (2000). He is a frequent speaker on the FMLA, ADA, ERISA and on benefits for older workers. He has also authored a variety of publications on these topics. RaeAnn Thomas, Director of Employee Assistance Program, Ministry Medical Group Employer Solutions, has been with Ministry Health Care for 21 years. When she s not serving the needs of her clients, she spends time rescuing Irish Setters and doing philanthropic work for the non-profit organization For One Child of India, which she founded. Stephanie L Pereira da Silva, M.S., CHES, Health & Wellness Manager at Kimberly-Clark Corporation., Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion/Wellness with a minor in nutrition, and a Master of Science degree emphasizing on Human and Community Resources and Nutrition from The University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Stephanie is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), ACE Fitness & Nutrition Specialist, Corporate Athlete Trainer; WELCOA Faculty Member (Wellness Council of America) ; WELCOA Gold Well Workplace Recipient. Stephanie has been the Health & Wellness Manager at Kimberly-Clark Corporation since 2008 specializing in the development, coordination and administration of health promotion programming for employees in both corporate and mill site locations globally. Additionally, she promotes employee health and productivity through annual health screenings/assessments with coordination of health & fitness coaching and risk factor stratified follow up for employees. Jodie Gardner, PMP, Manager, epmo (Enterprise Project Management Office) Quality and Process, Ministry Health Care, has led many projects from Computerized Provider Order Entry to training over 9,500 associates on High Reliability. Jodie is a MS Project Server Administrator and a webmaster for epmo and Strategic Planning intranet. Jodie trains the Project Management Essentials class at Ministry Health Care and has trained Project Management classes for Scottsdale Institute, Loyal High School, WHIMA, and the Project Management Institute Northeast WI chapter. Jodie is a Master Change Agent and is working towards her Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. She enjoys traveling, camping, kayaking, and stamping. Jessica Raddemann, Executive Director of the Wellness Council of Wisconsin, a statewide non-profit organization whose vision is to improve health to empower business. With a career spanning 15 years, Jessica applies her industry expertise as a healthcare consultant and corporate wellness strategist. In addition, as a wellness leader in Wisconsin, Jessica serves as a member of multiple statewide coalitions to advance worksite wellness along with addressing risk factors such as obesity. Jessica holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education, a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) designation, and a Wisconsin resident Life and Accident & Health Insurance License. Randal Wojciehoski, D.P.M., D.O., Medical Director, Ministry Employer Solutions, is an emergency medicine and occupational medicine physician who works with employers to keep employees healthy. Dr. Wojo received his medical degree from the University of New England-College Of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Wisconsin- Marshfield Clinic Program. He holds a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree and is dual board certified in emergency medicine and internal medicine. His book, To Your Health with Dr. Wojo, is available nationally. He also enjoys flying planes, boating, playing golf and exercising. Brant Bergeron, Medical Education Program Manager, Ministry Health Care. Brant is a 1985 graduate of UW-Stevens Point, has experience in broadcast journalist, and spent 13 years working with Alumni Relations at UWSP. He has been at Ministry for the last 13 years, with roles in Marketing & Public Relations, Hospital Operations Administration and for the last 5 years, Medical Education Program Manager, where Brant works with Ministry Health Care clinicians and nurse practitioner, physician assistant and medical students on educational opportunities in the system, building relationships which one day after training is complete, could result in being hired by Ministry, and enjoys distance walking, golf, biking, cooking, eating (a little bit more than distance walking!).
