3 Presenters Anita Glicken, MSW Anita Duhl Glicken, MSW is President/CEO of the nccpa Health Foundation, a supporting organization to the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, that designs solutions for improving the capacity of certified PAs to impact the quality and accessibility of health care. Ms. Glicken is Associate Dean and Professor Emerita at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where she was a tenured professor for 30 years. Ms. Glicken has authored over 75 publications and served as principle investigator on grants totaling over $8 million. She has led several national and international health care delivery change processes, many of these focused on interprofessional education and practice. She is project consultant to the National Interprofessional Initiative on Oral Health (NIIOH) and leads the national physician assistant initiative. Wanda Gonsalves, MD Dr. Gonsalves completed a BS in dental hygiene from the University of Louisville, and her degree in medicine from the University of Kentucky (UK) in 1975 and 1984 respectively. Dr. Gonsalves served as Program Director of the Family Medicine Program at UK prior to joining MUSC. She is one of the co-authors for the award winning national Smiles for Life Oral Health Curriculum. Her interests include preventive care, women s health, oral health in primary care, and service learning pedagogy. Currently she is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Resident Inclusion and Diversity Education at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Gonsalves is an advocate for health care of the under-served where she is faculty advisor and medical director of the student run free medical clinic called C.A.R.E.S. Erin Hartnett DNP, APRN-BC, CPNP Erin Hartnett, DNP, APRN-BC, CPNP is Program Director for the College of Nursing s oral health programs, Oral Health Nursing Education and Practice (OHNEP) program funded by the DentaQuest Foundation and the HRSA funded Teaching Oral Systemic Health (TOSH) program. Dr. Hartnett is a pediatric nurse practitioner in pediatric neuro-oncology at NYU Hassenfeld Center for Children with Cancer and Blood Disorders where she also coordinates the oncology clinical rotation in the NYU pediatric dental residency program. Her collaboration with the dental residents increased her awareness of both the acute and late effects of cancer treatment on the children s oral health. This led to her DNP capstone Integrating Preventive Dental Care in Pediatric Oncology where she collaborated with key members of the NYU dental school and the NYU Hassenfeld Center to implement an oral assessment and fluoride varnish treatment educational program that now is the gold standard at the NYU Pediatric Cancer Program. Dr. Hartnett recently received a national DNP Capstone Award from the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and the New York Times Nurse Innovator Award for this program.
4 is a Full Professor and Director of the Center for Integrative Health Education, Research and Technology in the Department of Health Promotion and Education in the College of Health at the University of Utah. He had previous appointments at the University of Kentucky and Texas A&M University. He has presented extensively nationally and internationally on resilience and resiliency. He is the author of the seminal article The Metatheory of Resilience and Resiliency that was published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology. He is the author of six books and over 50 articles related to positive and optimal health. He teaches resilience and resiliency classes both at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Professor, Department of Health Promotion and Education College of Health University of Utah Mayumi A. Willgerodt RN, MPH, PhD Dr. Willgerodt earned her BSN from Georgetown University and a dual MPH/MS and PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She joined the faculty of the University of Washington Seattle School of Nursing in 2001 and is now a Professor in Nursing and Health Studies at the University of Washington Bothell campus. Dr. Willgerodt s area of scholarship is focused on interprofessional education and collaborative practice; she has been involved in numerous initiatives within and beyond the University of Washington. She has participated and/or led the development of community based cases for use in IPE, the creation of longitudinal IPE curricula, and faculty development. She is a member of several grant teams focused on IPE and patient safety and co-leads the evaluation core of a HRSA-funded grant focused on integrating IPE and technology in DNP curriculum at UW. Dr. Willgerodt is also a Master Team STEPPS trainer and has expertise in communication, group facilitation and focus groups. In 2011, she was chosen as one of eight faculty at UW to participate in the UW IPE Teaching Scholar program. In July 2013, she was selected by the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation as one of five national Faculty Scholars a two-year program designed to support faculty to lead innovative educational change. As a certified school nurse, Dr. Willgerodt is also involved in school-based health promotion research, with an emphasis on enhancing shared management approaches between parent and child around healthy behaviors. In addition to her IPE work, Dr. Willgerodt has received local, national, and federal funding for her research on family relationships and adolescent mental health and risk behaviors in Asian American immigrant families, and community based participatory research. Dr. Willgerodt is actively involved in undergraduate and graduate nursing teaching and curricula, serves on the editorial board for the Journal of School Nursing, is a member of numerous professional organizations, provides consultation services and volunteers with the homeless youth population in Seattle. Raymond J. Tseng DDS, PhD Dr. Tseng received his DDS and PhD in Oral Biology from The Ohio State University in He then went on to pursue further training in pediatric dentistry while conducting post-doctoral research in childhood obesity at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He holds adjunct faculty appointments in the Physician Assistant Program and the Department of Public Health at Campbell University s College of Pharmacy & Health Science, and also in the department of pediatric dentistry at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. Dr. Tseng splits his time between clinical practice of pediatric dentistry, teaching, and research focused on access to dental care for uninsured and underserved pediatric populations.
