Heavy Industries builds some of Canada s most interesting public art and creative construction projects and we are looking for a Shop Foreman who will bring leadership to our 30000sqft production facility in Calgary Alberta. Our shop features a CWB certified welding department, a CNC tooling department, a sculpture department, a coatings department, a carpentry and millwork department and an architectural concrete department. Our shop already has designated leaders for each department listed above as well as for safety, installation and quality we are looking for a foreman who will act as a coach (not a cop) in bringing all facets of our production together to manufacture projects. Heavy Industries considers its people to be the single most important factor for creating successful projects, as such, the Shop Foreman will be directly responsible helping manage the continuous development of our production resources, including; researching and developing best practises and new processes/materials, interviewing and onboarding new employees, training and cross training existing employees, conducting regular performance reviews, and making decisions that relate to discipline or reward. The Shop Foreman will work closely with our production manager and project managers to manage our production schedule and forecast our long term people and equipment requirements. Assist with the creation of the production schedule and help department leaders allocate resources to specific tasks; identify future hiring/training, material and equipment requirements necessary for execution of the schedule Manage the overall productivity and strive towards the continuous improvement of these metrics Manage the hiring, training, promotion and ongoing development of all production employees. Manage the ongoing maintenance of the shop and its equipment and fleet vehicles Assist with the ongoing improvement our quality assurance Raise the standard of our safety culture

3 Required Skills Must have fabrication shop experience. Strong experience in welding, fitting, and fabrication required. Previous supervisory or management experience preferred but not required. Has overall responsibility of the shop to ensure all equipment repairs are completed in a safe, cost effective, and timely manner. Monitors the shop floor to see that repair procedures are being performed safely and that scheduled services are captured and unscheduled units are scheduled into shop. Track and schedule training for all technicians.

4 Responsibilities Ensures workshift begins on schedule and assigns work orders to technicians to maintain an orderly and efficient workflow that meets internal customer deadlines. Monitors work in progress on the floor to ensure it is performed safely, correctly, and meets Standard Repair Times. Schedules inbound equipment so that repairs are assigned in order of priority. Equipment status is updated continually to maximize utilization. Monitors that all required repair campaigns are completed and warranty procedures are followed. Maintains the Company's safety culture, promotes a safe work environment and in compliance with Federal and state regulations by conducting safety meetings, mock OSHA inspections, modeling safe work habits, etc. Inspects completed repairs to ensure equipment is up to DOT and company standards. The position required full time attendance and the ability to work overtime. Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus specialized training; 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to research data and know where to obtain data. Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with customers and vendors. Cordell & Associates is seeking a motivated individual with leadership, management and organizational skills to run our 10,000sf, three (3) man production facilities. The Foreman/Welder Fabricator will be responsible for welding, fabrication, assembly and testing of custom built crane and hoist systems, and specialized conveying systems. Work tasks include welding/fabrication, assembly, painting, industrial controls integration and equipment testing. Shop Foreman duties include:

5 Working Foreman Position involves hands on participation in production process that includes welding of structural steel shapes, heavy plate, angle and channel. Both mild steel and stainless steel are used. Supervise Performance Monitor all welders/fabricators and their work to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, project requirements and deliveries. Ensure Safe Working Practices Responsible for shop safety, compliance with safety rules, PPE and safe working procedures. Coordinate with the company safety committee for ongoing safety training. Coordinate Activities Coordinate shop activities, personnel and equipment with Engineering, Sales and Service departments in allocation of work. Schedule Shop Production Schedule shop personnel and equipment based on production schedule provided by Engineering. Manage Materials and Components Manage all incoming and outgoing material/equipment. Manage and Organize Shop - Responsible for shop organization, tools and consumables and housekeeping. Training Train new personnel on welding/fabrication procedures and process. Maintenance Maintain shop equipment, tools, facility and areas to ensure safety, organization, and efficiency. Skills Steel fabrication and layout, welding, organizational, leadership, interpersonal, communication, computer, problem solving. Candidate should be a certified welder or have the ability to take and pass a certified welding test. Additional Skills Industrial Controls knowledge to facilitate wiring of control panels. Some knowledge is required however training can be provided. Equipment MIG and TIG welders, band saws, iron workers, overhead cranes, fork trucks, plasma torch, burning set, mag drills.
