Key Design and Technical Features Design Features Back-end Cntent Management Systems (CMS) permitting yu t update yur wn website. (Uses the WrdPress platfrm, the mst widely used and extensively develped CMS available.) Respnsive design: website adjusts autmatically t different screen widths, and is als cmpatible with tablets and mbile devices. Attractive, landing (hme) page with easy, intuitive navigatin menus and a large image slideshw linking t the selected services yu wish t highlight. Scial netwrking integratin, with e.g. Facebk, Twitter, LinkedIn. Range f mdern features including, as required: integrated Ggle lcatin maps; cntact and/r newsletter signup frms; PDF dwnlads fr user cntent; passwrd prtected pages fr, e.g. private, client-specific cntent. Technical Features and Advantages Search Engine Optimisatin (SEO) mdule t ensure site is SEO cmpliant. (Please nte that I d nt guarantee search page rankings.) Website als autmatically submits self-generated site-map t Ggle and ther main search engines n a scheduled basis. Autmated website backup mdule fr added security; can full site and database backups t yu n a scheduled basis. Cmplies with EU Ckies Law. Cmpatibility with all majr web brwsers. Page ptimisatin fr rapid brwser lad. Fully mdular fr easy expansin f functinality in future. Theme-based design permits rapid redesign f each website in future, if required. Lgs f prfessinal affiliatins t be included apprpriately (up t agreed number). 4. Wrk Specificatin Setup and cnfiguratin f new (r cnfiguratin f existing) web hsting accunt (see Hsting sectin belw). Installatin and cnfiguratin f WrdPress platfrm and back-end database. (WrdPress is pensurce sftware, and hence des nt incur any additinal cst. I d nt use third party service prviders fr my websites all installatins are fully bespke n yur wn hsted web space; hence yu maintain full wnership and cntrl f yur website. Installatin and cnfiguratin f design theme files and cde mdules. (Cst f theme cde is included in this qutatin.) Develpment f website: design; cntent; page structure; navigatin; theme custmisatins; installatin and cnfiguratin f design and technical features as detailed in Sectins 2 and 3. (If required) SEO page ptimisatin fr selected keywrds fr hme page and specific prducts pages. 1 hur face t face training in the use f the WrdPress Cntent Management System. A wrkflw recrd f theme custmisatins, and a recrd f all cnfiguratin parameters, lgins and passwrds will be prvided. 5. Website Hsting I use a recmmended and trusted prvider (1 and 1 Internet) t hst my websites. After lking at yur current web hsting accunt, I will advise either t develp the new website in situ, r t change t 1 and 1 Internet, in which case I may need t initiate a dmain name transfer accrdingly. If a new hsting accunt with 1 and 1 Internet is used, this will be set up in yur name, and hsting fees are payable by yu via credit card. 1 and 1 Internet retain yur card details and future payments are taken autmatically. Yu hence maintain full wnership f and cntrl ver yur website and dmain names. 1 and 1 Internet currently charge VAT per mnth fr an apprpriate hsting package (als includes accunts). Yu may als wish t register additinal dmain names fr yur new website as required. Currently, dmain names cst VAT per year t register. Registratin fees are payable by yu. I d nt charge any cmmissin fr web hsting r dmain registratin. If yu chse t remain with yur existing web hst, it may be necessary t purchase additinal services necessary t run a WrdPress-based website. This is payable by yu. 6. Phtgraphy Yur wn images Fr yur wn images used n yur website, I will ensure they are web ptimised and clur crrected (I use fully clur-calibrated cmputer mnitrs fr my wrk); this, prviding the images are f sufficient quality t begin with. I will advise as necessary. Phtgraphy by Mat Mackenzie (MDM) Optinal. If yu wish t use any f my wn phtgraphy n yur website, a fee will be agreed per image fr indefinite use, and restricted t yur single website use nly. 3 Stck Images Optinal. It may be necessary t purchase sme stck images in rder t cmplete the website. Prices vary, but are typically a few punds per image fr web reslutin phtgraphs. I will invice yu fr any stck images I need t purchase during the curse f my wrk. If yu wish, I will ask yu befre making any such purchases. I d nt charge cmmissin n purchases f stck phtgraphy. 7. Csts Website Develpment As calculated (up t agreed number f hurs wrk.) In rare cases, a client may require significantly increased size r scpe f a website frm that anticipated when a qutatin is made. Whilst I always endeavur t absrb sme additinal wrk int my quted cst, fr additinal features r nging changes/additins abve the agreed ttal time, a separate qutatin fr additinal wrk may be required; this, based n my standard rate f 45 per hur. This qutatin is based n the amunt f time it has previusly taken fr me t develp similar size and specified websites. Hsting and phtgraphy csts additinal, as previusly utlined. Please als nte csts fr ptinal/additinal services as utlined in Sectin Optinal / Additinal Services Optinal and additinal services yu may require, which are nt included in this qutatin and agreement. Yu are f curse free t maintain yur wn website, r engage anther develper t d s, if yu wish. Full cntrl and wnership f yur website remains with yu. Website maintenance. After website cmpletin, technical maintenance wrk is advisable peridically fr security and perfrmance reasns, and includes upgrading t latest versins f WrdPress, plugins and theme cde files. Further website develpment. Any future develpmental changes t the structure, design and cntent f yur website, as required. Staff training. One-t-ne staff training in the use f the WrdPress Cntent Management System (in additin t the 1 hur included). Alternatively, dcumentatin and instructins are available nline. (The abve are all based n my rate f 45 per hur.) Cmmercial phtgraphy. (Daily and half-day rates negtiable.) Ggle Adwrds nline marketing campaigns. 4 Agreement Terms and Cnditins Entire Agreement This agreement cntains the entire understanding between Mat Mackenzie (MDM) and Client Name (CN). It replaces any prir agreements that may have been made. Payment and Schedule An initial depsit f (as agreed) is required in advance alng with signed acceptance f this agreement. CN will be inviced fr the balance f (as quted) (plus any ther mnies fr ptinal/additinal wrk) upn cmpletin (website launch). This balance is payable within three weeks f date f invice. Fr any ptinal wrk, additinal t that cvered in this qutatin, my current rate f 45 per hur is guaranteed until the end f (date as agreed). There is n agreed cmpletin date. Hwever, wrk will be carried ut by MDM in a timely manner, priritising when required. Final cmpletin date will als depend n turnarund time fr cntent and infrmatin requests t CN by MDM. MDM will nt be liable fr csts incurred, cmpensatin r lss f earnings due t the failure t meet agreed deadlines. CN will be prvided with passwrd access t the new website, in rder t view it as it is being built. Ownership and Respnsibilities (If applicable) Website will utilise a hsting accunt set up with 1 and 1 Internet (CN will maintain full wnership f this hsting accunt. Hsting fees are payable by CN directly. MDM will set up this accunt n behalf f CN and will require payment details t d s. Althugh future payments shuld be taken autmatically, CN is respnsible fr mnitring renewal dates and ensuring payments are made. Yur website hsting cntract will be with 1 and 1 Internet. Their Terms and Cnditins are available here: MDM is t be prvided with full and unrestricted access t web hsting accunt, necessary t cnduct his wrk. After cmpletin f wrk, CN may remve MDM s access t the hsting accunt and website CMS if desired. CN is respnsible fr ensuring MDM is supplied with cntent material in a timely manner. All dmain names and cntents f website t be prperty f CN. (Excludes phtgraphic cpyright fr any images taken by MDM.) This qutatin and agreement des nt include a maintenance cntract. CN is respnsible fr mnitring the availability f website cde updates via the website cntent management system, and either making the updates r requesting this wrk is carried ut n their behalf. It is imprtant t keep yur WrdPress website cde files up-t-date fr security reasns. Limitatin f Liability MDM will nt be liable fr any damages r lsses, financial r therwise, t CN, its partners, clients, heirs r any third parties, resulting directly r indirectly frm circumstances utside his cntrl, including but nt limited t: hst server dwntime, errrs r faults due t web hst; failure by CN t renew hsting accunt; current r future prgrammatic errrs r incmpatibilities within the WrdPress engine, plugins r themes cde; cmputer viruses, malware, malicius sftware r hacking attacks; cpyright infringement in cntent supplied by CN, any ther unfreseen circumstances. 5 Websites t be checked and verified by CN as functinal and crrect befre launch. Launch implies this has ccurred satisfactrily. MDM will nt be liable fr any damages r lsses, financial r therwise, t CN, its partners, clients, heirs r any third parties, resulting directly r indirectly frm incnsistencies, missins, errrs r cpyright infringements within the website discvered r ccurring after launch. Terminatin In the very unlikely event that MDM is unable t cmplete the agreed wrk fr CN fr any reasn, e.g. ill health r unfreseen technical issues, MDM s liability is limited t a refund t CN f the (as agreed) depsit paid. In this case, any and all part cmpleted wrk by MDM remains the prperty f CN (excluding MDM s phtgraphic cpyright). Shuld CN wish t terminate this agreement befre cmpletin f wrk by MDM, payment settlement t MDM is required accrding t the prprtin f wrk already cmpleted at the time, with a minimum settlement f the (as agreed) depsit. In this case, any and all part cmpleted wrk by MDM remains the prperty f C (excluding MDM s phtgraphic cpyright).
