1 र ष ट र य प र द य ग क स स थ न, र उरक ल National Institute of Technology, Rourkela NITR/AC/UG-PG/2015/L/4160 dt INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADMISSION TO UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMME [THROUGH DASA-2015] FOR THE SESSION [ALL CONCERNED ARE REQUESTED TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY AND CAREFULLY] The Admission to different Undergraduate Programmes at National Institute of Technology, Rourkela through DASA Centralized Counselling for Undergraduate Programmes for NRI students conducted by MNIT Jaipur will be held between 13 th July, 2015 (Monday) & 16 th July, 2015 (Thursday). For the same, Candidates who are allotted NIT Rourkela are advised to fill necessary details at NIT Rourkela online portal: till , 11:59 PM. However, those candidates who are not able to fill the same by the due date may be permitted to fill the online application form at NIT Rourkela, which may delay the admission process. Candidates who are allotted NIT Rourkela are required to report physically and take admission at NIT Rourkela as per the following schedule: Venue Time Date Bhubaneswar Behera Auditorium 09:00 AM 13-July July-2015 Admission Procedure: For admission, candidates are required to bring the following documents in ORIGINAL with a photocopy (attestation not required) of each. Printout of the Online Enrollment form & Address Slips obtained from Provisional admission letter in original received from DASA 2015 [Original will be retained] Pass Certificate of High School Certificate Examination/Equivalent Examination/Birth certificate for 3. proof of date of birth [Original + 1 photocopy, Original will be returned] 4. Mark sheet/pass Certificate of Qualifying Examination [Original will be returned] Memorandum of Marks of all Examinations starting from HSC onwards (Candidates whose results are awaited will be given provisional admission at their own risk and must produce the qualifying 5. marks and certificates by 30 th September 2015 failing which their admission will be cancelled and all fees paid will be forfeited. This time-extension will be given only for submission of qualifying degree marks and certificates whose result is awaiting and not for any other certificates) Course completion Certificate from the Principal of the Institute [in case result is awaited in the format given in Annexure I] 6. 2 7. School College Leaving/ Migration Certificate from the Institution last attended [Original will be retained] 8. Conduct/Character Certificate from the Institution last attended [Original will be retained] 9. Three (03) Recent Passport size colour photographs [preferably white/sky blue background] Recent Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe/ Physically Handicapped / OBC certificate (eligibility 10. as per declaration by GOI) for claiming reservation. OBC/PH certificates should have been issued on or after 01/01/ Passport [Original + 1 photocopy, Original will be returned] 12. Medical Certificate as per the format from DASA 2015 Admission Fee: i) Pay Rs. 47,500/- online in the link under Pay Admission fees or 13. ii) Rs. 47,500/- in the shape of Demand draft in favour of Director, NIT Rourkela payable in any bank at Rourkela Please note that NIT, Rourkela is a fully residential Institute and permission to stay outside is granted only in rare cases. Permission from Dean (Academic) needs to be obtained for the purpose of staying outside a hostel. Dean (Academic) should be convinced about the genuineness of the need as well as about the facility available for pursuing studies in the alternative accommodation. Permission to stay outside the hostel may be granted after a student has been admitted to a hall and paid all starting dues. Students permitted to stay outside will not be allotted a room, nor will they be required to pay mess dues in future. Their mess advance will be refunded after adjustment of dues if any (e.g. establishment fee, special functions etc.). It may be noted that such students need to pay hostel seat rent, establishment fee and fees for special functions every semester till completion of their programme. Before coming for the admission, the candidate must ensure that he/she is fulfilling all eligibility criteria for admission as per our advertisement. The Institute will not be held liable for any discrepancies arising in future and reserves the right to cancel the selection/admission. Location: NIT Rourkela is around 8 kms away from the railway station. Applicants may hire an auto and reach the Institute. The minimum auto fare is Rs. 110/-. Accommodation: NIT Rourkela is having Two Guest Houses (South Block and North Block) with limited number of rooms. Accommodation will be provided as per availability on payment basis. 4 Refund Rule: Once a student is admitted and if a student is removed or withdraws/leaves the Institute without completing the entire programme, all fees paid including the caution deposit will be forfeited by the Institute. I will produce the result and certificates showing at least 60% marks in aggregate or CGPA 6.5 in a 10 point scale on or before September 30, 2015 failing which my admission shall stand cancelled and all fees paid will be forfeited. I will not appeal to the Institute authority for further extension of date for submission of my result.
