We work with a variety of employers including Barclays, BMW Bowker, Printed Cup Company and regional councils, to develop placement opportunities that will help set you ahead of the game when looking for your first graduate job. You will be responsible for any travel costs associated with your work placement and if working in a school or similar setting with children or vulnerable adults, will have to pay the cost of a Disclosure & Baring Service (DBS) check at a cost of 44 (price correct at September 2015). study visits to enhance your knowledge and bring learning to life. You will have the opportunity to join an overseas study tour, for example to Barcelona or Prague, which will be partly subsidised by Runshaw College. There will be no fees associated with local/regional visits, but you may be expected to meet at a local venue rather than College and will be responsible for any personal spending. 4 Foundation Degree in Business As a Foundation Degree student you will investigate contemporary business concepts and examine topics including entrepreneurship, leadership and management effectiveness and the dynamics of organisations. The Foundation Degree is recognised by major professional bodies/employers and is appropriate for access to supervisory, junior and middle management roles. Course Content Year 1 Management Organisation & Functions Entrepreneurship & Small Business Start-Up Organisations in their Environment First Line Management Professional & Academic Skills Year 2 Business & Management Practice Managerial Decision Making Human Resources Management Accounting Marketing Duration Full-time (2 days per week) over 2 years at Runshaw s Euxton Lane Campus in Chorley. Some additional hours will be required to complete the CMI Leadership & Management Level 4 Award. Entry Requirements 200 UCAS points plus GCSE Maths and English at Grade A* - C or equivalent. You may also qualify for the course if you have other qualifications or relevant life or work experience. Top up your degree Foundation Degrees are recognised qualifications in their own right, equivalent to the first two years of an honours degree. Many of our graduates chose to top-up their Foundation Degree to a full Honours degree by applying to the final year of the following courses at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in Preston: BA (Hons) Business Administration Final Year Top Up BA (Hons) Business & Management (E-Learning) Top Up (part-time) Progression to Year 2 of a more specialist business degree at UCLan may also be available. 5 Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Business This qualification has been developed in liaison with employers and is designed to equip you with the broad variety of business skills needed by every organisation. At Runshaw Foundation Degree in Business - one year top-up. At the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in Preston Year 3 of the 5 year part-time BA (Hons) in Business Administration Year 2 of a more specialised, 5 year part-time business degree A part-time e-learning route may also be available at UCLan, allowing top up to a BA (Hons) in Business & Management. This qualification will be delivered entirely online. If you wish to progress to an alternative university, you are strongly advised to research the entry qualifications required for your chosen course prior to enrolling at Runshaw College. Part-time (one afternoon and one evening per week) over 2 years at Runshaw s Euxton Lane Campus in Chorley.
