1 PRESS RELEASES OF THE GERMAN BISHOPS CONFERENCE Accreditation information on Pope Benedict XVI s visit to Germany Pope Benedict XVI will pay a visit to Germany from 22 until 25 September He intends to visit Berlin, Erfurt, Etzelsbach and Freiburg. The Press and Information Office of the Federal Government and the Media Office of the Secretariat of the German Bishops Conference will both attend to the media in cooperation with the media offices of the archdioceses of Berlin and Freiburg and the diocese of Erfurt. 2 DER DEUTSCHEN Accreditation information All journalists are required to obtain an accreditation. The permanent accreditations via the Press and Information Office of the Federal Government are not effective! The accreditation for the Bundestag address has to be applied for at the Deutsche Bundestag directly. On this issue the Deutsche Bundestag will soon publish a separate press release. The application for accreditation has to be presented until Monday, 12 September 2011, 04:00 p.m. at the latest. An accreditation after the registration period is not possible! Journalists being in possession of a valid permanent accreditation issued by the Press and Information Office of the Federal Government have to register by name until a.m. date by phone: 0049 (0) , or -4257; or by fax: 0049 (0) /4158; or by mail: akkreditierung@bpa.bund.de. Journalists who are not in possession of a permanent accreditation have to apply for an accreditation for the Pope s visit. To this purpose please use our online accreditation! Please register once with and then get yourself accredited with your user name and your password. If you do not wish to use the online accreditation you may also apply for accreditation with the Press and Information Office of the Federal Government by using the attached form. The required photo will be taken if you come for the accreditation. Host TV / international signal For reasons of space and security, the German public broadcasting corporations and private TV stations according to the Berlin model will act as exclusive host TV broadcasters and they produce the international signal together.
