2 Contest Organizer The OWP Brillen company has created glasses collections of international quality ever since its establishment in A total 75 percent of our production is designated for export. We have our own subsidiaries in Germany, France, Austria, the Netherlands and the US, as well as sales representatives in 42 countries worldwide. To continuously accommodate our international orientation, we make substantial investments in product development, technology, logistics and service. In this way we can always respond to the needs of diverse markets and target groups. Our well-balanced portfolio of our own two, well established, private labels OWP and metropolitan and the license brand Mexx ensure the successful sales of our collections. OWP is therefore considered one of the top suppliers in the industry today, and has earned its reputation among opticians throughout the world as a creative, highly innovative company. The Contest The goal of this contest is to identify and honor creatively innovative product ideas in the area of corrective frames. The contest is geared toward university-level students in programs of study that emphasize creativity or graduates who have completed within the last four years. The design concepts should be based on the urban street style. The contestants are free to design frames for women or men. With respect to the choice of materials, contestants should use materials that are processed on an industrial scale.

3 The design concepts should take into account: Technical feasibility / producibility Choice / combinations of materials and creative implementation Wearability of the frames Correctness of product technology / functionality The entries will be evaluated based on the following criteria: Idea and conceptualization Preliminary analytical and conceptual work Creativity and design quality of the methods used to achieve the result Visual implementation and result and / or technical execution 1 st 2 3 nd rd Three prizes will be awarded: Prize: 2, or, alternatively, a 4-week internship in the OWP Design Department including travel, accommodations and board. Prize: 1, Prize: If a design is used in a collection (regardless of prize level), the creator will be paid a fee customary in this line of business in exchange for assigning the rights of use. 1. Submission packages must include: One completed application form inclusive of a summary description of the designer s intention. Design plan, in hard copy format on DIN A4-size paper and in electronic format as a PDF on CD/DVD, 300 dpi resolution. Each format must contain the drawing, which shows the front view, side view and top view. Optional: Mock-up (model) of the entry and explanatory sketches and photographs. 4 Previously published works may not be submitted. All personal data will be handled in strict confidentiality, not transmitted to third parties and destroyed after the contest is over. OWP Brillen GmbH is responsible for the technical and organizational administration of the design contest. Contest participants grant their consent to make their works available for purposes of publication and exhibition. The Contest Organizer reserves the right to make minor alterations to design form (especally in respect of feasibility and correct product technology). The copyright remains the property of the contest participants. All designs not awarded or not purchased shall remain property of the designers. With the contest entry, the designer declares his or her full acceptance of all terms and conditions of the Request for Proposals (RFP). The ballots are submitted after discussion among the jurors. The Jury works in accordance with the Jury Rules; all decisions are final and irrevocable. There is no right of appeal or recourse to a court of law. The Jury alone decides on the awarding of the Jury prizes. The Jury is entitled to suspend the awards, or issue or distribute them as it sees fit. Liability The Contest Organizer assumes no liability for the entries submitted. Entries submitted on paper and CD/DVD will not be sent back. Any submitted models may be shipped back upon request.
