10 BE AWARE PIP (PERSONAL INDEPENDENCE PAYMENT) You may be aware that existing claimants who are on DLA are being invited to apply for PIP from last July. It is strongly recommended that whilst these forms seem to be easy to fill in it is wise to ask either Caroline from Epsom & Ewell CAB Mental Health section or Sara, KAG to help you with these. An example is that you may be invited to go quite a distance for your assessment besides having the choice of somewhere nearer to where you live. It is advisable to choose the latter as if you attend the first choice this could be marked against you as being capable of travelling which does not cause you any mental health distress. GENTLE REMINDER This is to remind members that if you change your mobiles, Support Workers, etc. please let Val know so that she can amend your membership forms so that you can be contacted should there be an emergency in that the Social Group had to be closed. Sadly on Thursday 21st January there was no Social Group as due to there being no heating. Lots of people were contacted to inform them of this, but there were a couple of people that it was not possible to do this as their mobiles/landlines and addresses were incorrect. TRUSTEES The Trustees would like to say that should any member have anything that they wish to discuss about the Social Group they are only too happy to listen to them. If members do not feel comfortable discussing these at the Social Group, then please ring David Murphy Chair on for a private chat.
