My role in the project: Data collection, data analysis, writing research papers for dissemination of study findings for multiple research projects under Natural Supports Project at UW-Madison Waisman Center. Reading Instruction in Alternative Settings The purpose of this project was to identify the characteristics of reading instruction in alternative and charter schools across the state of Wisconsin. My role in the project: Conducting literature reviews, data collection, and data analysis, writing research papers for dissemination of study findings. Summer Reading Project: The purpose of this project was to improve reading skills of students with reading problems in an after school setting. My role in the project: Literature review, data collection, data analysis, Writing manuscripts for dissemination of study findings. Project Summer: Project Summer was designed to identify the skills, experiences, supports, and connections that youth with disabilities need both during the school year and summer months to
8 transition successfully into adulthood. 8 Role in the project: Assist with data collection, data entry, reliability checks, data analysis. Focus Group Project: A qualitative research method was used to examine the perceptions of teachers in alternative schools. Teachers from various schools were interviewed about their teaching practices for students with emotional and behavioral disorders. My role in the project: Assist with data collection and data analysis Educational Policy Reform Research Institute (EPRRI) Project: EPRRI is a federally funded program designed to increase knowledge and understanding of ways that students with disabilities can be fully included in educational accountability measures. My role in the project: Data entry, reliability checks, descriptive statistics. Day Treatment, Residential, and Juvenile Correctional Schools (DR&JC) Project: The purpose of this project was to identify and investigate alignment of curriculum, assessment, and accountability policies across three levels: school, local education agency, and state, for day treatment and residential schools for students with EBD and schools for youth committed to juvenile correctional facilities. My role in the project: Data entry, reliability checks, descriptive statistics, data analysis.
