1 Scholarship # & Award Information 1. Scholarship Listing Fall 2013 Scholarship Name and Criteria Alan R. Ewald Memorial Aviation/Mechanics 1. Applicant pursuing a career in Aviation Maintenance, OR Major must be Auto, Auto Machine, Diesel Mechanic Or Welding with priority given to College Connection students 2. Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units at 3. Must have completed 12 college units in applicable major 4. Must maintain a minimum 2.5 or better grade point average (GPA) 5. Must demonstrate FINANCIAL NEED Application 2. Five 3. $ Ambrose & Mary Barbera Memorial Scholarship 1. Open to all Majors 2. Must be U.S. Citizen 3. Must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 units 4. Must complete Fall semester to receive Spring semester scholarship award Barbara Jane Carr Memorial Scholarship 1. Applicant s stated major must be in Visual or Performing Arts 2. Preference given to U.S. Veterans 3. Must be a resident of Shasta or Trinity Counties 4. Must demonstrate Financial Need 5. May be a current returning student or be transferring to a 4-year college or university either in the Spring 2014 or Fall 2014 semesters Bryan K. Zollner Memorial Scholarship 1. Must be currently enrolled and scheduled to complete the Shasta College Firefighter 1 Academy 2. Must submit original application Hand written applications will not be accepted 3. Original application packet consists of the following: Student Information use the form provided -answer each question; Student Autobiography use the form provided, only one side will be read. This is your opportunity to present yourself in the best possible light to the scholarship committee. Scholarship Recommendations Must submit two letters of recommendation 4. Scholarships are awarded through a competitive review process. Not all applicants will receive an award. The successful applicant will be required to attend the graduation ceremony for the Firefighter 1 academy in the semester that the award is made. The decision of the selection committee is final.

Must have Financial Need 4. Must be full-time, transferring to a California University next semester 5. Award must be used for school expenses Clay E. & Vivian McClain Memorial 1. Applicant must be enrolled and attending either of the 1 st year ADN or LVN Nursing programs, as a full-time student 2. Must be a resident within the Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Joint Community College District 3. Must be a graduate of a high school within the Shasta-Tehama- Trinity Joint Community College District 4. Must demonstrate Financial Need 5. Must have maintained a 2.8 cumulative GPA 6. Must submit a written autobiography of his/her educational and career goals 7. Must submit two letters of recommendation which preferably are from practitioners from within the health care community Dolores Nufer Memorial 1. Applicant must be currently enrolled in the 2 nd Year ADN program 2. Must have maintained a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA 3. Must show an interest in the nursing field 4. Must demonstrate a desire to remain in the Redding area after graduation 5. This award is funded in the current semester H.T. Hinman, Nursing 1. Must be in the 2 nd Year ADN program at next academic year 2. Must demonstrate academic achievement 3. (Optional) Student currently employed in the nursing field 4. (GPA will be compensated for students working in the field) 5. Must transfer to a University in the Fall Semester Marty Brandum Memorial 1. Must be fulfilling requirements for either the Transfer-Level General Ed Block or Vocational Program in which the student is enrolled 2. Student must be female, entering college after being out of the workforce for ten or more years 3. Must be registered in 6 or more units at 4. Must have maintained a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA 5. Must demonstrate Financial Need 6. Biography should stress applicant s Statement of Purpose (i.e. educational & employment goals and how she will accomplish them) Interview with sponsor will be part of the selection process 7. Financial Need Mountain Gate Community Services District /Fire Science 1. Applicant must be currently enrolled in the 25 unit Firefighter 1 Academy 2. Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA 3. Preference is given to applicants from the Northern California Area 4. Must be a U.S. Citizen 5. Must state in Autobiography why you are deserving of the scholarship 6. Recipient must attend one Auxiliary meeting to be introduced and accept the award. Mountain Gate Community Services District /Water Technology 1. Must be currently enrolled in the Water Technology Program; I, II or III 2. Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA 3. Preference is given to applicants from the Northern California Area 4. Must be a U.S. Citizen 5. Must state in Autobiography why you are deserving of the scholarship 6. Recipient must attend one Auxiliary meeting to be introduced and accept the award. Redding Host Lions Disabled Student Grant 1. Open to All Majors 2. Applicant must be eligible for Disabled Student Services according to the DSPS office at Must provide proof with the application 3. Must have completed 12 semester units consistent with the student s Educational Plan 4. Must include a short statement of Education and Career Goals within their application autobiography 5. Must have maintained a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA; Student may only receive this grant one time 6. Recipient must be able to attend a Thursday Lions Luncheon to accept the scholarship check Robert E. and Jean L. Rust Memorial Scholarship 1. Open to students who are enrolled or majoring in a Health Career Program 2. Must be returning to for Spring Must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA

Open to All Majors 2. Must be honorably discharged from any branch of the US Military or Coast Guard; submit Member 4 copy of DD214 with application 3.
