1 Architectural Project Manager - Healthcare Responsibilities The Healthcare Project Manager will plan, organize, and control the activities of the project team to best accomplish the successful completion of all assigned projects. As the primary point of contact, the Project Manager shall be responsible for coordination of the project between LPA and its Clients. The Project Manager shall be responsible for coordination of the design and technical efforts of the project team members and the integration of architecture, engineering, interiors and landscape disciplines on the project. Typical Duties Establish, implement and monitor a Work Plan for each project. Responsible for client relations and to assist the Project Director and Principal-In-Charge to obtain repeat business from existing clients. With proper assistance, see to the preparation and execution of Agreements consistent with client needs, firm's technical ability and firm's projects schedule. Coordinate project with outside consultants and direct in-house staff with the assistance of the Project Coordinator. Submit to and review with client matters pertaining to budget and scope of the work. Execute and oversee financial management of projects; monitor reports, invoicing, revenue projections, etc. Manage the efficient development of complete, fully checked project documents. Ensure quality control of all project documentation and communications. Lead client and team meetings throughout the project. Knowledge & Experience Professional degree required, architectural license preferred. Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in project management of Healthcare projects. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors and team. Experience in personnel supervision, strong written and verbal communications skills. Competent knowledge of building materials, specifications and construction techniques for Healthcare projects. Experience in dealing with OSHPD, governmental agencies, codes and ordinances. Sufficient knowledge of engineering disciplines to coordinate work. Knowledge of construction process sufficient to coordinate project with contractor.

The Project Manager is responsible to develop, implement and monitor the project Work Plan with the Project Director and/or Principal-in- Charge. The Project Manager shall be responsible for coordination of the design and technical efforts of the project team members and the integration of architecture, interiors and landscape disciplines on the project. Attend meetings with client throughout project and attend project closeout related activities. Oversee and staff periodic visits and client meetings by firm representative(s). Relationship to Others: The Project Manager has authority to direct project activities as authorized and directed by the Project Director and/or Principal-in-Charge of a specific project, however, he/she may not change the scope of work or deviate from any other part of the contractual document without Project Director and/or Principal-in-Charge approval. Works directly for the various Project Directors and/or Principals-in-Charge according to assignment. Works under minimal supervision and performs as a project leader. Helps in development of staff. Communicates with project design team to minimize misunderstanding and conflicts. Promotes coordination and cooperation of in-house project team.

3 Architectural Project Manager - Education Knowledge and Experience: Professional degree and/or registration in his/her discipline preferred. Minimum of five (5) years experience in project management including construction document preparation and field observation in both public and private K12 and/or Higher Education related projects. Experience in personnel supervision. Competent knowledge of building materials, specifications and construction techniques. Experience in dealing with governmental agencies (DSA, CDE, OPSC), codes and ordinances. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors and team. 4 Architectural Project Director - Healthcare The Healthcare Project Director will lead the activities, growth and development of the Project Team to accomplish the successful completion of all Healthcare projects in Northern California. As the senior level Healthcare representative located in the San Jose office, the Project Director will be responsible for new business development and maintaining and nurturing effective client relationships for LPA s Northern California Region. The Project Director will exhibit a proficiency in a particular specialty of healthcare design such as; hospital planning, ambulatory surgery centers, cardio-vascular services, women and children s services, wellness centers, senior care, etc. Typical Duties: Business development and active industry networking; building relationships that result in the growth of LPA s Healthcare design practice. Responsible for ongoing client relations to secure repeat business from existing clients. Develop fee proposals and qualifications packages, working with LPA s Business Development Coordinators. Assist the Principal-in-Charge in the review of client s master agreements, terms and conditions. Build and lead the Healthcare Project Team for the purpose of producing successful projects. Motivate the Project Team towards performance excellence in all assigned tasks. Mentor team members; participate with the Principal-in-Charge in performance reviews, and in the recruiting and retaining of Healthcare staff. Ensure financial success of projects with the Project Managers; monitor reports, invoicing, revenue projections, etc. Oversee the efficient development of complete, fully checked project documents. Ensure quality control of all project documentation and communications. Serve as Senior Project Manager on key LPA Healthcare projects. Lead the LPA Healthcare Team in Northern California, and coordinate staffing and design quality efforts with LPA s other regional offices. Knowledge & Experience: Professional degree (BArch or March) and architectural license required. Minimum of fifteen (15) to twenty (20) years of architectural experience in the management of Healthcare projects. Minimum of ten (10)+ years in of experience leading Healthcare Project Teams and in business development. Strong communication skills with clients, consultants, contractors and team. Experience in personnel supervision, strong written and verbal communications skills. Demonstrated ability to guide and motivate staff. General knowledge of healthcare design in both ambulatory care and acute care. Specialized knowledge in one or more healthcare service models. Strong experience with OSHPD, governmental agencies, codes and ordinances. LEED and/or LEAN certification a plus. Membership and active participant in a professional healthcare organization. The Project Coordinator, in the role of technical team leader will primarily work on the technical aspects of a project but may begin to handle some project management tasks under the direction of the Project Manager, Project Director and/or Principal-in-Charge. You will: Assist Project Manager with client and project coordination and management. Ensure compliance of preliminary plans and construction documents with design intent. Coordinate and prepare documentation for schematic design, design development and/or construction documents as assigned by the Project Manager. Develop and compile project specifications. Review the work of and coordinate with the various design disciplines for the successful completion of their scope. Respond to bid inquiries and prepare addenda where needed. Provide assistance in construction administration. Conduct or assist in on-site observations as directed by the Project Manager. Prepare observation reports where appropriate. Review submittals during the construction process. Assist in project close-out efforts including punch lists and agency processing. Meet with governmental agencies or officials as needed. Desired Skills and Experience: Bachelor s Degree in Architecture is required. California License in Architecture is preferred. Five plus years industry experience required with specific experience in corporate and/or educational projects. Highly motivated, positive and proactive problem solver. 6 Architectural Project Coordinator - Education This is an experienced position involved in non-routine and complex assignments. The Project Coordinator works with the Project Manager, Project Director and/or Principal-in-Charge of a specific project to develop design concepts that are incorporated in final product by Technical Designers. The Project Coordinator, in the role of technical team leader, may begin to handle some project management tasks under the direction of the Project Manager, Project Director and/or Principal-in-Charge, but will primarily work on technical aspects. Typical Duties: The following duties are typical of this position but are not all encompassing. Each person is expected to help out in whatever duties are required to deliver a quality product on schedule, within the project budget and the budgeted hours provided for in the work plan. Assist Project Manager with client and project coordination and management. Manage projects of limited scope under supervision of Principal-in-Charge. Supervise personnel. Provide data for evaluation of budget compliance and project billings. Advise Project Manager of need for additional service. Coordinate construction document preparation; Analyze building/zoning code. Outline document contents with "half size" sets and specification outline. Ensure compliance with design intent and coordination with specification. Review work of consultants for coordination purposes. Respond to bid inquiries regarding pre-bid approvals; prepares addenda. Provide assistance in construction administration. Prepare project correspondence. Conduct on-site observations as directed by Project Manager. Prepare observation reports when appropriate. Review submittals as needed. Assist in project close-out efforts including punch lists. Meet with governmental agencies or officials as needed. Relationship to Others: The Project Coordinator may not change the scope of work or deviate from any other part of the contractual document without Project Manager, Project Director and/or Principal-In-Charge approval. Minimum five (5) years experience with construction document preparation and field observation in education related projects. Must be proficient in the use of computer for CAD operations. Limited experience in personnel supervision. Competent knowledge of the use of building codes and other related regulations. Competent knowledge of construction materials, specifications and techniques. Experience in dealing with governmental agencies, codes and ordinances. Ability to communicate with clients, consultants and contractors. Sufficient knowledge of engineering disciplines to coordinate work. Knowledge of construction process sufficient to coordinate project with contractor.

7 Architectural Project Designer - Education The Project Designer has the primary responsibility to generate, develop and present design solutions for specific LPA projects. The Project Designer will coordinate with the Senior Designer and/or Principals-in-Charge of a specific project to develop conceptual and schematic designs. The Project Designer will coordinate the design effort between architecture, landscape and interior design disciplines for the project. After presentation to and acceptance by the Client, the Project Designer will work with and advise the Technical Design team during Design Development and Construction Documentation to ensure proper execution of the original design intent. The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Each person is expected to help out in whatever duties are required to deliver a quality product on schedule, within the project budget and the budgeted hours provided for in the work plan. Project programming, codes, compliance, conditions and or other relevant research Conceptual Design Schematic Design Coordination with the Design Development Technical Design team Presentation of designs Perform other project-related tasks as may be approved or assigned by the Senior Designer, Project Manager, Project Director and/or Principal-in-Charge. Perform other special tasks as may be assigned The Project Designer has authority to perform complex design duties under the direction of the Senior Designer and/or Principals-in-Charge of a specific project. He or she coordinates design work of staff within the project team. The Project Designer works under minimal supervision directly with various Senior Designers and/or Principals-in-Charge according to assignment. Helps in the development and mentoring of junior technical design and intern staff. Some client contact for project review. The Project Designer communicates with the technical design team to ensure a clear understanding of the project and project issues and promotes coordination and cooperation of the in-house project team. Must be proficient in the use of computer for design i.e. Power Point, etc. Must be proficient in the use of computer for CAD operations. General understanding and knowledge of structural and MEP systems Understanding and knowledge of applicable codes. Strong ability to communicate project design concepts in written and graphic formats Minimum four (4) year degree from accredited school of architecture preferred Minimum three (3) years of related project experience with LPA preferred Strong written and verbal communications skills.
