1 Interactive Catchment Plan Prject Brief Backgrund t the rganisatin The Suth East Rivers Trust is an envirnmental charity dedicated t the cnservatin and restratin f rivers in the suth east f England, including suth west Lndn, Kent, Sussex and Surrey. Our missin is fr the rivers in the Suth East Rivers Trust area t achieve Gd Eclgical Status r Ptential, and the management f their catchments t set internatinal standards fr urban and rural cmmunity-driven sustainability and envirnmental excellence in river rehabilitatin and restratin. Hw will we achieve this? Engagement: We want t empwer lcal cmmunities in the Suth East Rivers Trust area t becme invlved with their lcal river, creating a sense f wnership and pride. Educatin: We want t educate bth children and adults abut the value f a healthy river and the threats facing rural and urban river habitats tday. Eclgical imprvement: We wish t take a scientific and evidence-based apprach t the restratin and cnservatin f rivers and their catchments, enhancing river habitats, bidiversity and eclgical sustainability. Partnership: We want t wrk with all rganisatins and stakehlders with the ptential t influence the health f rivers acrss the Suth East Rivers Trust area, and cllabrate clsely t achieve ur cmmn gals. What is a rivers trust? We are a member f the rivers trusts a natinal mvement t prtect rivers and their catchments acrss the UK and share best practice in their cnservatin and restratin. Rivers trusts are knwn as having wet feet fr getting in rivers and making a difference n the grund.

2 Prject Backgrund The Suth East Rivers Trust requires a website which wuld enable effective partnership-wrking by facilitating the sharing f infrmatin abut Water Framewrk Directive-relevant issues, slutins, and nging actin t imprve the status f rivers. The website wuld als be the public face f catchment partnerships, and wuld help t cmmunicate infrmatin t stakehlders. Objectives Develp a website and interactive actin plan fr tw Kent management catchments Each catchment must be able t have a separate identity and the tw interactive plans must be capable f being viewed separately r in a cmbined plan Enable the site t be extended t ther catchments as and when they are ready and willing The prpsed website will facilitate hw the partnership cmmunicates and delivers its actins by: Prviding infrmatin abut the river and its catchment Prviding an interactive actin plan that can be accessed and updated by partners Prviding infrmatin abut the partnership and its aims and bjectives Enabling stakehlders t engage with the partnership and submit infrmatin and ideas Including a blg and events feed The website develper will prvide ne half day training n hw t use the website cntent management system and update the interactive actin plan, backed up with telephne and nline supprt t help ut with any questins that might arise as the partnerships begin using the website. Secure a website dmain name. Additinal Pints f cnsideratin The website must be easy t use and encurage the engagement f partners. The website must be able t be integrated with a future Suth East Rivers Trust website if desired.

3 Tasks Prject management The Prject Manager will be Bella Davies, Trust Directr, Suth East Rivers Trust. The cntractr will be required t prvide updates by r telephne at least weekly intervals. A prject inceptin meeting will be held at the SERT ffice in Carshaltn and an additinal training and handver meeting will be held in Medway. A cst fr additinal meetings shuld be included. Website design Cntractrs shuld develp draft wireframes and draft website design fr apprval by prject partners. Cmments n draft designs shuld be reflected in the final design. Website design shuld be respnsive and designed t wrk n different devices, including mbiles and tablets. Cntent management system Cntractrs will be expected t use a free and pen surce cntent management system. The SERT requires full administrative access t the website and there shuld be n hidden charges fr making changes t the website cnfiguratin, structure r cntent. Website develpment There will be a clear menu system allwing peple t navigate the site and btain the infrmatin they required quickly and simply. The cntent management system will enable the website administratr(s) t update the cntent and add extra pages r menu items with ease, requiring n prir experience f website management. The website will include the fllwing functinality (in additin t the interactive actin plan, which is described in the fllwing sectin): Interactive map f the catchment Events calendar Blg Scial media integratin Usage mnitring Interactive Actin Plan The interactive actin plan will be develped as a resurce fr use by all members f the partnership. Each registered user will be given a passwrd-prtected lg-in t access the plan and mdify its cntents. The plan will als be accessible t the public, allwing users t view (but nt edit r update) the infrmatin thereby encuraging transparency in hw the partnership perates. Actins will include the fllwing infrmatin: brad theme; descriptin f actin; delivery targets; and partners invlved. It shuld be pssible t update the status f each actin and t add cmments.

4 Anyne accessing the interactive actin plan will be able t filter and/r srt actins using the infrmatin listed abve (enabling actins t be srted by theme, delivery partners, etc.). Training and handver Cntractrs shuld explain hw they will wrk with SERT t ensure that key SERT staff and partners are able t use the website effectively. An estimate f nging supprt and hsting csts shuld als be prvided.
