6 Occupational therapy Occupational therapy is a profession concerned with promoting health and well being through occupation (productivity, self-care, leisure).

22 Course pre-requisites A study score of at least 30 in English Units 3 and 4 (ESL) or 25 in any other English Recommended: VCE units 3 & 4 in at least two of: Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Health & Human Development, Psychology, Physical Education A study score of at least 30 in any two of these = an aggregate 2 points higher These are not a pre-requisites, just a recommendation Cut off score in 2014 was ATAR of

23 Non-Year 12 students A study score of at least 30 in English Units 3 and 4 (ESL) or 25 in any other English Full academic record/grade point average (distinction average) Work/voluntary/relevant life experience Add any additional information in the VTAC notes section 23

24 Pathways into the Bachelor of OT (honours) Students should study at Tertiary level and achieve an average of at least 60+ throughout their course. The type of course studied will have no impact on being made an offer. Only results are taken into consideration. Students can study at least 2 x University level units instead (Single unit study or Open Universities). TAFE units/certificates are not accepted Non-Monash students will need to apply through VTAC. Current Monash students can apply for an Internal transfer Students can apply for credit once enrolled eg OT degree has 1 elective unit 24

33 Professional Accreditation The Monash Bachelor of Occupational Therapy course is accredited by Council of Occupational Therapy (COT) and the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) The Master of Occupational Therapy Practice has Accreditation (with conditions*) from COT *A new program cannot get full accreditation until the final year of the program
