3 HARVARD STUDY LEADER PATRICK BOWE An author, architectural historian, and horticulturist, Patrick Bowe has published ten titles including Gardens of Ireland and Gardens of the Roman World. He is a consultant on the restoration of historic gardens, including those of Sutton Place, once the English home of Paul Getty. Those who have traveled with Paddy know him as a marvelous lecturer, charming travel companion, and an engaging raconteur. A sought-after historian and lecturer in both the United States and in Europe, Paddy will present captivating lectures and lively on-site talks. Based in Dublin, Paddy graduated from University College, Dublin, with a degree in architecture, and is married to art historian, author, and lecturer Dr. Nicola Gordon Bowe. Sunday, May 1 DUBLIN, IRELAND Arrive this morning in Dublin and transfer to the Merrion Hotel, an elegant Georgian townhouse hotel set in a lovely garden. Spend the afternoon at leisure. In the evening, gather at the hotel for a welcome reception and dinner. Tuesday, May 3 DUBLIN / LOUGH ERNE, NORTHERN IRELAND Depart Dublin for Castle Leslie, nestled on 1,000 acres of countryside and owned by the Leslie family since the 17th century. Stroll through the gardens of the estate with Patrick Bowe before lunch in the castle. In the late afternoon, continue to Lough Erne Resort and Spa, your home for the next three nights.
