Delivering effective voice services over your IP Network
Why duplicate costs? Voice and data networks have evolved independently of each other and consequently most organisations operate two separate networks, each with its own design, capacity and maintenance requirements - all with considerable duplication of cost. IP (Internet Protocol) networking offers the opportunity to converge these separate platforms into one highperformance, scalable and cost-effective voice and data network. Better and more flexible telecommunications at an affordable price No organisation can afford to let ineffective telecommunications hold it back. By implementing InTechnology's IP Voice Connect TM services you will save money, increase efficiency and lay down the basis for a single, fully converged voice and data infrastructure. IP Voice Connect TM will deliver: IP-based telephony including an extensive range of features to improve individual user productivity. A centrally hosted, managed service with 24-hour support. Controlled migration from your existing PBX environment, protecting and augmenting previous investment. Free 'on network' calls regardless of location. Simple user and administrator interfaces, with no need for highly specialised in-house or contracted skills. Easy to configure, advanced services such as ACD, call cente, data attendant and voic . A pay-as-you-go model with minimal up-front capital outlay. A future-proof and highly scalable communications platform which can be easily integrated with your desktop computing environment. The business benefits delivered by layering IP Voice Connect TM over an ethernet network are compelling; no business can afford to ignore the advantages this technology can deliver Steve Pearce, Chief Operating Officer, InTechnology plc.
How IP Voice Connect TM works 1 InTechnology hosted IP Voice Connect Switch Hosted within InTechnology's world class data centres and replicated three times for total resilience the IP Voice Connect TM switch controls all aspects of the service including call routing, features sets and user administration. Because the switch is hosted centrally all features are accessible to everyone connected to the network with no user site PBX equipment or skills required. 2 IP Phone Connect Once a user account, with the appropriate feature package, has been set up on the IP Voice Connect TM switch, IP phones can be connected directly to the LAN and configured via the users web browser. Ideal for small sites and remote users or new / upgrading sites where a PBX is not cost effective. 2a Home worker support Home worker employees can now be fully connected to the rest of the company. With an IP phone they can short code dial their colleagues. Internal calls to other office or home workers are free and users can also access and other network resources - all over a private broadband connection. 3 IP Gateway Connect Keep your existing PBX but enable IP Voice Connect TM services by installing our IP Gateway Connect device. This enables your PBX to be directly connected to your LAN / WAN and call other on the network users free of charge. 4 Combining PBX and IP handsets When your PBX becomes full, you don't have to buy a new multiport line card for just one additional employee. Simply set up new IP Phone Connect TM user accounts as required and deploy fully interoperable IP phones alongside your PBX users. 5 Breakout to Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) Calls on network are free of charge but calls out of the organisation can be routed via your existing Telco or via an InTechnology approved PSTN partner to reduce your spend on line rentals at each site and reduce the cost of external calls. 6 LANnet TM network InTechnology's highly secure communications network (LANnet TM ) offers connectivity via 24 city centre points of presence throughout the UK. LANnet TM provides a fast and cost effective connection to the IP Voice Connect TM service and a basis for the delivery of other IP services. 4 IP Gateway Connect 3 IP Phone Connect 2 2a 5 6 1
A model for convergence InTechnology's LANnet TM network has been specially designed to support multiple types of network traffic including: Internet; VPN; data; voice; video and offsite back up/data replication. Using Quality of Service management ( QoS ) timesensitive traffic such as voice or video calls are prioritised over bulk data such as file transfers or ensuring call quality. This facilitates the use of a single network infrastructure to carry both voice and data applications - an effective model for truly converged services delivery. Easy to use features - available to everyone Once connected to the IP Phone Connect service, users are offered a choice of Basic, Standard and Advanced feature packages allowing you to align cost with user requirements. Regardless of the site size or location, from a mobile or home worker to hundreds of office-based users, everyone benefits from the choice of feature packages available and free site to site calls. Features include: Make, receive, transfer and conference calls. Click to dial from, group, Outlook or LDAP directories. Work remotely from ANY phone. Build Call Centre, name dialling and IVR menus in minutes. All centrally administrated through a simple yet powerful web portal. Sophisticated, yet easy, call management from your PC All typical daily tasks and setup of user-definable features can be done via a web browser on your PC, rather than complex '*#' handset codes. IP switch technology and support you can rely on Built using tried and tested SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) based software, InTechnology's centrally hosted IP Voice Connect TM Switch provides a reliable, flexible and future proof alternative to traditional PBX, or newer proprietary IP PBX, deployment. Used by service providers throughout the world, SIP based telecommunications provide an open standards based framework which can be easily integrated with other voice enabling applications. The core platform and network connectivity is monitored 24/7 by InTechnology support staff ensuring your voice platform is always available.
IP Voice Connect TM : tackling real business telecommunication issues Issues Each of my PBXs serves only a single site. I need one per site and there is inconsistency between them. This situation: - Reduces my feature set to those common to ALL systems - Impedes flexibility - Doesn't scale - Is expensive In order to support my PBXs, I need some very specific skill sets. These are very difficult to deliver in-house and I have to outsource even the simplest actions, such as moving an extension from one desk to another. I spend a lot of money on calls between my sites. For my larger sites, I have invested in a fixed line but this only resolves the issue between these two sites, is expensive and offers no solution to small sites or home workers. Features IP Voice Connect TM is network based and so all available features can be used at any location. The platform is hosted in InTechnology's data centres and is fully managed 24x7. Extensive functionality can be deployed as required and charged on a per user basis. All moves, adds and changes (MACs) are done via a secure, simple to use web page. Changes made via this interface are activated immediately. Any site connected to InTechnology's IP Voice Connect TM service can call any other 'on-net' site free of all call charges. Benefits Every site, from the largest office to a home worker, can call on any and all available features. Features are deployed as required, to where they are most needed thus removing unnecessary complication and costs. Every user becomes fully enabled regardless of location. Operational costs are significantly reduced. Moving an extension to a new desk, enabling voic or membership of a call centre is done immediately and remains fully within your control. This reduces spend between your main offices., home worker s calls to the office(s) are free and external calls are all charged centrally to the corporate account. Even while working at home, a consistent number can be presented to the called party. My PBX costs are subject to significant step costs. Each time I fill a line card, I have to spend 000 s just to add a single user. Replacing old PBXs or installing at new locations is a significant capital expenditure. Operating small sites is not cost-effective for me and users at small sites or home workers have no advanced telephony features available to them - even voice mail is a challenge. As a result, remote workers are almost impossible to integrate. I have a small call centre-like operation in my sales/customer service department, but I find that an Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) solution is far too expensive. I'd like to distribute calls across multiple sites and can integrate home workers but can't find an effective solution. IP Voice Connect TM is delivered on a per-user basis. If one additional phone is required, only one need be purchased. All IP Voice Connect TM features are available on a per-user basis to every site. IP Voice Connect TM is network based, there are no geographic restrictions. This means that members of any group (for call pickup, call distribution, administration or even advanced services such as Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) for a call centre) can be distributed across as many sites as necessary - even including home workers. Moving away from unplanned capital investment in PBX hardware significantly reduces costs and attaches a perfectly predictable cost to your businesses telephone system. The move away from complex and expensive site-based solutions to a centrally hosted service delivers flexible, simple to use, yet powerful features with predictable costs and reliability. A hosted voice solution gives you the ability to deploy specialist solutions to all of your employees with the flexibility to immediately modify configurations to deal with unpredicted demands.. As services are delivered at the click of a mouse, there is a very low, capital cost of entry.
