5 Data Center challenges The double-edged squeeze The BUSINESS The PLANET More computing per watt! Reduce carbon footprint! Schneider Electric 5
6 Data Center Challenges It was expensive and took months to complete a first proposal that was rejected! It s going to take another month to revise and resubmit. My project manager had a detailed schedule but came in 6 months late. Even more time was lost when the components didn t work together as designed. Data Center Life Cycle Due to all of the unexpected cost overruns and change orders, my data center came in 30% over budget. My data center was challenged to power and cool my new applications. I could not install new IT equipment even though there was room for it in the racks. Schneider Electric 6
