2 FPIC: 38 th ANNUAL CONFERENCE This conference presents state of the art infection prevention practice and disease control information. Conference Objectives At the conclusion of the conference, the participant will be able to: Discuss the importance of early identification of disease clusters and possible outbreaks. Discuss emerging technologies and trends in microbiological techniques. Describe the NHSN VAE definition, possible outcomes, and be able to apply it in a practical setting. Name at least two risks that occur when processing medical devices. Special Information TARGET AUDIENCE: This program is designed for Infection Prevention professionals in all health care settings, including Infection Prevention Committee Chairpersons, Hospital Epidemiologists, Physicians, Employee Health Nurses, Emergency Response Professionals, Physician s office employees, Microbiologists, Home Health personnel, Long Term Care staff, Non-Acute Care staff, Public Health personnel, Ambulatory Care personnel and other Health Care providers. EDUCATIONAL CONTACT HOURS: This seminar is approved for 13.5 contact hours of continuing education under the provider number of # for both nursing and laboratory continuing education credit. Daily contact hours: Wednesday 5.0; Thursday 5.0; and Friday 3.5. CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION: You will receive a confirmation of seminar registration by or fax.
