2 2012 Atlanta Partners For Education (APFE) For the past 30 years, Atlanta Partners For Education (APFE) has brought more than 400 partners into the Atlanta Public Schools (APS). APFE partners have contributed more than $5 million in human and financial support to APS. APFE s focus is directly on the students and student achievement. Our partners engage in activities that make a difference in the lives of children. APFE continues to be the doorway through which the business and civic community walks through to make a difference in APS. Our programs include an annual partnership awards luncheon, which allows us to recognize the outstanding community partners who dedicate their time, talent and treasure to improving public education. There is a new web portal that allows schools to choose projects that support their individual goals for student achievement, and provides metrics for schools and partners. Other programs are aimed at keeping our stakeholders engaged and informed. APFE invites you to sponsor its 2012 partnership program efforts. Partnerships enhance educational opportunities for the students of Atlanta Public Schools by channelin a variety of resources to schools to help schools achieve their goals for student achievement. Partnership activities are project-based and selected by the schools. Partnership activities focus on five impact areas: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), reading/language arts and writing performance, preparing students for college and career readiness, social studies and student attendance.
