SafetyDirect is a Web-based reporting tool that uses an onboard data logger to capture and report driving behavior, vehicle characteristics and severe events. The data logger is installed on the vehicle and interfaces with the truck s SAE J1939 data link. Data is automatically saved and transferred, using an existing telematic provider, to a web site, where it can be accessed by fleet managers. Real-time information. Real-world solution. SafetyDirect is a single point of access for monitoring and synchronizing driver-performance data reports on events such as forward-collision warning, haptic warning, collision-mitigation braking, ATC event, ABS event, ESC/RSC event, excessive braking, excessive curve speed, lane departure warning and more for individual drivers as well as the entire fleet. Fleet integration is simple, with minimal installation required. SafetyDirect can be installed with any of the available combinations of Meritor WABCO s SmartTrac systems (ABS, Automatic Traction Control [ATC] and Stability Control), Meritor WABCO OnGuard and the Iteris LDW system. The system captures and stores events that occur in every SafetyDirect-equipped truck in your fleet. The comprehensive reporting delivers continuous event recording with time/date stamp, driver and vehicle ID, vehicle speed, odometer and GPS location with Google Map view. The system analyzes driver and vehicle performance data and relays this information directly to fleet operators via the fleet s SafetyDirect Web interface ( using the fleet s existing onboard mobile communications provider (such as Qualcomm or PeopleNet). With SafetyDirect, fleet managers are able to set parameters and individual thresholds for severe events and get automated, customized reports. They can get a comprehensive view of the entire fleet, or drill down to detailed information on individual drivers and events. SafetyDirect enables users to compare the performance of drivers within a fleet even track their performance in different trucks, monitoring each driver s or group s performance over time. It monitors the safety system status, including LDW, OnGuard and SmartTrac stability control systems. In addition, SafetyDirect monitors fuel mileage and safety system fault codes. The SafetyDirect Division Report displays driver performance individually or for the whole division. A Region Report is available to compare different divisions within a region or among different regions. Both can be automated by an interactive guide and sent weekly or monthly to one or multiple addresses. In addition to scheduled reports, SafetyDirect can also send real-time immediate event notifications for severe events via . Division Reports can display multiple driver events. By clicking an individual driver s name in the Division Report, a detailed summary is displayed for that driver. SafetyDirect puts needed information at the system user s fingertips. For severe events, pre/post data is stored and displayed.
