5 Fleet Management Solution FleetLynx enables dispatchers and managers to efficiently utilize their vehicles and mobile staff. Lack of efficiency can be corrected, while high efficiency can be lauded. 1 Efficient use of fuel - FleetLynx provides live and historical statistics on fuel consumption while the vehicle is travelling or while it s stationary. Once these costs are measured they can be managed. For instance, if the organization s policy is to keep engine idle times to less than 10 minutes, management can enforce this policy with drivers that do not comply. 2 Efficient use of resources - FleetLynx can accomplish this in many ways, such as o A zone (ie: specific area of any size/shape) can be drawn onfleetlynx's map around a company depot. Vehicles that enter and leave the depot will cause records to be generated. Vehicles in depots do not generate revenue, so that if too much time is spent revenue. o Government organizations, through the use of these records of distances driven, can ensure that its vehicles are being used appropriately, as well as potentially determine if full time or only part time use is required. 3 Efficient use of preventative maintenance - As engine faults are recorded by the vehicle s computer, they are transmitted by FleetLynx to the fleet manager. Not all faults are displayed on the vehicle dashboard, nor are they necessarily severe enough to cease vehicle operation. Proper recording and transmitting of faults can lead to more efficient preventative maintenance, in that the maintenance can be scheduled when all of the resources of labour and parts are available. Should the condition be severe enough, the vehicle can be taken out of service at the yard, rather than have it break down in the field, with the associated high costs of onsite maintenance and/or towing, not to mention the cost of unproductive staff. 4 Efficient use of time - For vehicles that travel predetermined routes, such as delivery/transit services, an estimated time of arrival (ETA) can be determined from the existing location. Notification of the ETA can be automated with FleetLynx, which can reduce or possibly eliminate the need for staff to handle in-bound calls. As well, with information on elapsed times of various routes, more efficient routes can be plotted. 5 Efficient use of operations - For all types of vehicles, efficiency and safety of operation is reported and therefore can be managed. For example, FleetLynx can be easily configured to report vehicles that are operated at high speeds, via instant alerts. Dispatchers/managers have full control of this cost-saving feature, such as pre-setting the threshold speed that will trigger the alert. Even further, if a company vehicle is involved in an accident, with FleetLynx's real-time tracking of the vehicle s exact location, speed, direction, etc., this will, in nearly every situation, indicate the accident fault. Fleet managers can then either deny or accept responsibility and take appropriate action. Knowing the circumstances can save time, money, and improve the public image of the organization.
