3 a message FROM The Director of Athletics On behalf of the University of Wyoming Athletic Department and more than 350 student-athletes, I would like to thank you for your support of UW Athletics and the Cowboy Joe Club! Your gift to the CJC directly funds scholarships and academic support for a group who carries a 3.0 GPA and graduates at a higher rate than the average student. Your investment in Cowboy and Cowgirl student-athletes is an investment in future leadership and our nation s and state s workforce. Thank you for investing in our community. This past year, UW Athletics claimed the top awards recognizing academic and athletic achievements as Chaundra Sewell (Women s Basketball - Broomfield, CO) and Luke Ruff (Football Castle Rock, CO) were selected as conference female and male scholar-athletes of the year. This is only the second time in history that one university claimed both. Your support of the Cowboy Joe Club will allow the Wyoming Athletics Department to reach our goals and continue to display success in the Mountain West. Intercollegiate athletics is an evolving landscape that is critical to have supporters who allow us to differentiate ourselves from other schools around the country. Right now we are engaged in a drive for 5,000 members with 4,700 members in Mountain West foe New Mexico is currently embarking on the same campaign. Let s beat them to the punch, and by reaching 5,000 members we will have the largest booster organization in the Mountain West! Our Pokes are expected to give 110% every time they step into the classroom, weight room or on the playing surface. We are asking that you, the fans and supporters of Wyoming Athletics do the same through your 2014 gift. I am proud to say we have some of the best fans and supporters in the nation at Wyoming. If you are renewing your membership, we ask that you consider increasing your donation by 10% of your 2013 gift and recognizing our student-athletes and their commitment and dedication to the University of Wyoming. Thank you so much for your support of our student athletes which enables us to compete at the highest level. Go Pokes! Tom Burman Director of Athletics

The Cowboy Joe Club has made the commitment to our student-athletes, as well as you, our fans and supporters, to give 110% to provide studentathletes who put on the Brown and Gold with the best possible environment in which to pursue the highest academic, athletic and personal ambitions. 9 scholarship CirCle Clayton & Kandy Hartman We can t think of a better way to support UW Academics and Athletics than having great student-athletes to mentor through the Scholarship Circle program. Clayton hartman The Scholarship Circle is comprised of a group of donors who are making significant financial commitments on an annual basis to dramatically change a student-athlete s opportunity for success. Donors are assigned to a specific student-athlete. every effort is made to match one of our student-athletes to the donor s interest and criteria (i.e. Business major who is playing women s basketball). each student Athlete s scholarship is worth $30,000 $10k - Academic excellence (Books, Room and Board, Study Materials, Tutors) $10k - Championship Advantage (Athletic expenses: Jerseys, equipment, Travel, Supplements, Medical supplies) $10k - Tuition and Fees Donors have the opportunity to fund one or more components of a studentathlete scholarship. Current Cowboy Joe Club members at the $10,000 level and above can automatically participate in the Scholarship Circle program with no additional commitment. scholarship circle Donors receive the following benefits: Personal interaction with the student-athletes throughout the year (within NCAA rules) Invitation to an annual reception with their student-athlete Personalized plaque with the athlete s photo equivalent credit and benefits in the Cowboy Joe Club Mick & Susie McMurry The University of Wyoming has played a huge role in my success. As a successful athlete and college graduate, all I can do is thank this great institution for giving me the tools and opportunity to achieve and become the complete scholar-athlete that my parents and I wanted me to become. The best way to show my gratitude is to give back and enter the Scholarship Circle to help encourage those who share the same dream to reach their goals. Thank you very much and GO POKeS! 11 compliance information important compliance information for cowboy Joe club Members As a member of the Cowboy Joe Club, you are also considered to be a booster of UW athletics. We are all committed to the integrity of our programs; therefore, please ask the Athletics Compliance staff if you have any questions concerning interaction with our student-athletes and/or our sports programs. For more in-depth compliance information, please visit our webpage located on the UW Athletic website under the Inside Athletics tab. What is an extra benefit and why do i need to know this term? An extra benefit is anything that is provided to a student-athlete or a student-athlete s family and friends by an institutional staff member or a booster that is not available to the general student body or general public under the same terms. Providing anything considered an extra benefit to one of our student-athletes or their family/friends jeopardizes their eligibility to compete for UW. What are the general rules surrounding recruiting and boosters? Boosters should not be involved in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes. A prospective student-athlete is anyone who has started classes for the ninth grade regardless of whether they participate in high school sports. Boosters should not attempt to contact a prospect or influence his/her decision to attend UW. Permissible Activities: Boosters may employ student-athletes provided they make arrangements through the Athletic Department. A booster may have in-person, telephone, or contact with currently enrolled student-athletes. A student-athlete or the entire team may be invited to the home of a booster for an occasional meal with prior approval from the Compliance Office. contact: Peter Prigge, Director of Compliance, Phil Wille, Associate AD, Internal Operations,
