12 Aviation flight training There are no additional fees for the Bachelor of Aviation program for non flying students If students choose to enrol at the Aviation Academy in order to undertake flight training to obtain an Australian commercial pilot s licence (CPL) and multi-engine command instrument rating (MECIR) then the flight training fees are in addition to the cost of the Bachelor of Aviation program fees. Approximately 220 hours of flight training are normally required (depending on flying ability) to obtain a CPL and MECIR at a cost of AUD$95,750 for This flight training fee covers all flight and ground instruction delivered by the university. There are also additional external costs associated with the flying to cover medical examinations, licence and security card, regulatory examinations, flight uniform, headset and flight case etc., at an approximate cost of AUD$5,000. International students are not eligible to enrol in the Graduate Diploma of Aviation.
