Our Courses All students commence their engineering studies with a common first year, called the Foundation Year (EFY). The EFY builds fundamental concepts common to all areas of engineering. Electronic & Communication, Computer Systems, or Electrical Power also share the same course content for an additional year following the EFY. Students wishing to transfer from one stream to another can do so prior to the commencement of their third year of study. In addition, throughout your final years of study you are able to choose from a range of optional units to cover more than one speciality area. First Year Studio All Curtin courses include a common first year of study providing you with solid theoretical and practical experience in a wide range of disciplines. Curtin has established an First Year Studio designed to reflect a range of engineering professions and to support your transition into university study. Applicants must meet the standard admission requirements of the University as well as at least three of the following courses: Mathematics 3C/3D, Mathematics: Specialist 3C/3D, Physics 3A/3B and Chemistry 3A/3B.
