Fink new facilities Fink s office located in São Paulo passed through a total renovation that was completed at the beginning of this year. To celebrate our new office we have received a very special visit from Mrs. Edith Klien, Rosemarie Klien Vega and Luisa Klien. We are looking forward to your visit as well! WORLD CUP FIFA 2014 Although our soccer team did not win the FIFA World Cup 2014 trophy, the Brazilian people feel like winners for the success of this huge event. 2 PEOPLE All FINK's staff congratulates our CEO Laura Ganon for her recent election to the Board of Directors of FIDI, wishing her a great success in her new endeavors. RECENT EVENTS Fink has participated in two important congresses in São Paulo in September. ERC - Summit of Global Mobility in Latin America, and a Seminary of Foreign workforce in Brazil and Brazilian abroad - chamber of commerce and industry Brazil - Germany. Both events were directed towards professionals acting in relocation and expatriation. FINE ARTS David Bowie IS spectacular international tour finally reached Brazil between January and April / 2014 for a season in São Paulo, and Fink was the company in charge of the transportation and logistics Paul Klien Hall of Honor recipient The Hall of Honor was established in 2008 to pay tribute to those Industry leaders whose careers reflect exceptional and distinguished service to their companies or the Association, or who have worked to elevate the Industry as a whole. We are very proud that Mr Paul Richard Klien has been nominated by IAM to be part of Hall of Honor. PROJECTS Fink Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo have a new training program and, as part of it, the entire move teams are visiting Santos and Rio de Janeiro s ports for onsite training. Groups are visiting bonded warehouses, port terminals, vessels, customs - brokers offices and terminal installations. This program will provide a macro view of import and export process in a practical way. Multiterminais, a Company of the FINK Group is investing R$500 million (aprox. US$220 million) in order to expand and modernize its Rio de Janeiro Port facilities, which include the MultiRio Container Terminal and MultiCar Vehicle Terminal. The expansion includes the extension of its berths, new warehouses, a garage building with the capacity of holding 7,000 vehicles and the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment, which will improve its efficiency in handling the household containers. All of our offices are committed to this challenging move, not so simple to apply in Brazil considering our law and bureaucracy. We expect not only to reduce paper use in 60%, but also to produce an even more efficient workflow, improving our team's performance. VERY IMPORTANT ALERT Brazilian customs is enforcing the law regarding tax exemption for Brazilian and Permanents returning moves importation: TO RECEIVE THE TAX BENEFIT/EXEMPTION, the owner of the move must not have exceeded 45 days in Brazil on its totality, during the twelve months previous to the definitive return of citizen. Customer is responsible to check and confirm days spent in Brazil and in case of wrong information, fines may be applied and taxes will be charged. Its strategically located offices, in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Brasilia, own climate control warehouses, special vehicles fleet, staff and carpentry, which differentiates FINK from any other operator in the country DEFENSE SHOW RIO DE JANEIRO A Defense show is a real challenge for a freight forwarder in Brazil. There are many restrictions, licenses to be approved by the Ministry of Defense, criminal responsibilities and local security demands. FINK was one of the official freight forwarders for LAAD Defense Excellent performance was recognized by the Ministry of Defense. The organizer elected FINK as the best level of service offered. CASA DAROS MADE IN BRASIL - RIO DE JANEIRO An unprecedented show, with more than 60 works by contemporary Brazilian artists - such as Antonio Dias, Cildo Meireles, Ernesto Neto, Vik Muniz and Waltercio Caldas, was handled exclusively by FINK. All pieces came from the Daros Latinamerica Collection, in Switzerland. Casa Daros is one of the most important fine art venue in Rio. FITNESS ARNOLD CLASSIC BRASIL 2015 The biggest competition in bodybuilding in Brazil has had its third edition in Rio de Janeiro. A trade show is organized during the event, where specialized products are exhibited. Once again, we were nominated the official freight forwarder of the event, providing international logistics. 4 CONGRESSES FINK has deep expertise in international logistics for cargo subject to approval by the Brazilian Health Ministry. For this reason, our participation in the congress industry is continuously growing. OIL & GAS EVENTS Rio de Janeiro is the capital of the Oil & Gas industry in Brazil. IBP - Brazilian Petroleum Institute nominated Fink as one of the official freight forwarders offering comprehensive logistics services. MINING SHOW TEXTILE There are important events in the textile industry and FINK has a considerable participation in this market. This is an area of special customs procedures in which we have a deep expertise and proven know how. FINK has been appointed as the sole official freight forwarder for EXPOSIBRAM 2015 the biggest mining show in Latin America. More than 500 exhibitors will be present, concentrating the main mining companies and most important suppliers in the world. ART FAIRS FINK has been appointed as official freight forwarder for art fairs such as Artigo, Trio Biennal and every year we provide international services to galleries that participate in SP-Arte and ArtRio. LEONARDO DA VINCI A NATUREZA DA INVENÇÃO FENAF 2015 Fink was honored to exclusively provide all international logistics for the blockbuster exhibition Leonardo da Vinci in FIESP São Paulo. We were responsible for all international logistics of 200m 3 of pieces. This collection was exhibited for the first time in Latin America to celebrate the fifth centennial of Da Vinci..A record of public:more than visitors. 5 Exhibitions Fine Arts Fairs NEWS Events FINK was the pioneering company in developing art transport techniques, as well as the transport of fair and event materials that required special treatment and, mainly, good logistical planning. Handling of art this special and important is performed by experienced professionals, most with over 20 years of experience, who are frequently trained in updated techniques and in the development of new packing materials. SEBASTIÃO SALGADO - GENESIS JARDIM BOTÂNICO - RIO DE JANEIRO CASA DAROS ILLUSIONS EXHIBITION - RIO DE JANEIRO The relationship between Fink and Daros began in 2008, with a big exhibition of Antonio Dias in Daros at Zurich. Since Daros decided to open in Brazil, Fink has been involved in all the beautiful projects exhibited there, even before the opening in 2013, when "Cantos Cuentos Colombianos" was shown. Then, Le Parc Lumière - Kinetic works by Julio Le Parc, Paintant Stories, by Fabian Marcaccio and now, Illusions. Daros is, nowadays, one of the most important cultural venues in Rio. DAVID BOWIE 245 photos taken by the brilliant Sebastião Salgado a world renowned Brazilian photographer - showing a preserved and untouched world has been on a touring exhibition in Brazil since May, 2014, where Fink is the international logistics operator. David Bowie IS spectacular international tour finally reached Brazil between January and April/2014 for a season in São Paulo, and Fink was the company in charge of the transportation and logistics. MUSEU DE ARTE DO RIO - MAR MAR is a public museum in downtown Rio de Janeiro and has become one of the most important museums in the Southeast of Brazil. The building where MAR is located was formerly a 6 floor hospital, and in 2011 Fink made the removal that allowed the building to be refurbished and become a museum. The opening was in 2013, and Fink performed the main exhibition logistics there. Since then, we have provided logistics services for many projects, including the latest one, POROROCA - a Amazônia no MAR. ERNESTO NETO EXHIBITION ARP MUSEUM - GERMANY Fink is proud to provide the logistics for a young and already famous contemporary artist, Ernesto Neto, since his first solo international exhibition in Mexico (2011). Other very successful solo exhibitions took place at the Aspen Art Museum in Colorado (2014) and Guggenheim Bilbao in Spain (2013). Next stop: Arp Museum, in Germany. 6 RIO OIL & GAS CONGRESSES Rio de Janeiro is the ideal venue for big Congresses. We faced the challenge to develop this division and got official partnerships for ISAPS, ICS, SICOT 2014, and provide the logistics services for Medical shipments. Blue ue ue As official freight forwarder for Rio Oil & Gas 2014, we have offered the best service and structure at the Show Site, including carpentry on site for box repairs, storage of empties, handling specialists, coordinators, forklifts to assist the exhibitors in their participation and to move their 40TON of cargo. ARNOLD CLASSIC LAAD DEFENSE & SECURITY We had the opportunity to work for LAAD Security 2014 as official freight forwarder, which increased our expertise in Defense shows and Cargo controlled by the Army Ministry, and in providing operational structure for defense cargo. Nominated again for the next show, LAAD Defense 2015, the largest and most important event for the Armed Forces of Latin America, we expect to attend to their demands with the same quality and structure. After its success in 2014, the Arnold Classic event in Riocentro confirmed the edition for 2015, and Fink continues appointed as official freight forwarder, supporting the participants in relation to their cargo. UPCOMING EVENTS LEONARDO DA VINCI A NATUREZA DA INVENÇÃO An exhibition to re-discover Leonardo Da Vinci and the specific nature of his genius, in order to create a link between his approach and contemporary research. 40 models created in the 50 s based on Da Vinci drawings will be shown at SESI SP, from November, 2014 to May, ART FAIRS Fink performed logistics services for galleries at 2 important art fairs in Rio last September: Artigo Fair (nominated official) and ArtRio. BRITISH COUNCIL Since 2011, Fink has worked for the educational projects that the British Council has been promoting in many cities in Brazil, importing tons of material to support their program. 8 Fink People O BLOCO D'AGENTE As one more action towards its Social Responsibility, FINK participated in a beautiful initiative, O Bloco D'Agente, collecting and delivering donations for an empoverished community in the outskirts of Rio. CHICO is back We are glad to inform that our very dear and extremely knowledgeable Francisco Sousa, who used to be a senior coordinator in FINK São Paulo but had left us for personal reasons, is back. Francisco had worked for 11 years in FINK and stayed one year away. Fortunately he is back now as Account Manager. A PRIMEIRA MISSA FINK was chosen by the Brazilian Government to be the fine art company to pack and transport a very important piece for Brazilian history: A Primeira Missa, painted by Vitor Meireles in Also in the exhibition other priceless paintings by Portinari. RAINBOW WARRIOR Multiterminais, FINK Group, has actively participated in the important event held in Rio, RIO+20, where it had a stand. Greenpeace and Multiterminais discussed ideas and actions to protect our planet. Maria Klien from Multiterminais MULTITERMINAIS - AIRPORT LOGISTICS "Bandeirantes", Portinari, 1956 Multiterminais, a company of the FINK Group, has inaugurated the first airport operated by the Group, Aeroporto Presidente Itamar Franco. This new airport, located in the city of Juiz de Fora, south of the State of Minas Gerais, becomes a new hub for cargo destined to the most important commercial region of Brasil, the Southeast. Multiterminais is the logistics operator of the airport, responsible for not only cargo, but also passengers.
