Consequentially, we see ourselves as a service provider for whom customer orientation, service and flexibility are number one priority. Introducing our company The brand PUK represents an independent private enterprise, run in the best tradition of the German medium-sized businesses. PUK-WERKE was formally founded in Our history, however, goes way back to the 30ies of the last century. Today, we may look back on 70 years of successful company history. The Berlin-based businesses Herman Pohl OHG (general partnership, founded in 1951), and the Anton Klein OHG, (founded in 1935), whose shareholders decided in 1969 to bundle their business activities in the PUK- WERKE KG (limited partnership), form the roots of our company. The merge of those two companies set the course for a positive future. Synergies could be utilized, enabling the enterprise to work the German market with greater intensity. At the same time, this step laid the foundations for an efficient internationalization of our business relations. Both founding companies began their success story with the production of cable clamps known until this day as Pohl-clamps or KSV-clamps. TEKOM-PUK is the leading producer of cable support systems in Turkey. This partnership opens up new possibilities not only in Turkey but also in its adjacent states and in the Arabic region. Our Spanish subsidiary PUK-Portacables and their long-time experience provide the source for our knowhow in installation of assembly systems for photovoltaic systems. A2

10 PUK History A With nearly 300 employees, PUK-Werke (without subsidiaries) generates more than 90 million Euros Europewide; with all subsidiaries combined together, over 800 employees generate a turnover of more than 180 million Euros, thus representing a steadily growing mediumsized group of companies. Of course, PUK-WERKE is certified for construction, production, delivery and assembly of cable support systems according to DIN EN ISO In cooperation with the Technical University Berlin, PUK- WERKE has developed a test facility. In this test facility, our cable support systems are being tested by the TÜV (Technical Inspection Association) according to the strict regulations of DIN EN Therefore the load-bearing capacity specifications in our main catalogue bear the TÜV sign. The mounting system for photovoltaic system underframes is based on the use of various standard mounting profi les. The simplicity of the coaction of the profi les to the module clams, the functionality as well as the fl exible utilization are the prerequisites for the easily distinguishable user-friendly mountability of our system. Based on set parameters we offer solutions for the assembly of photovoltaic systems that are statically funded, yet at the same time unbeatably priced. A4

12 PUK-Solarline A Photovoltaic systems today Due to changes in the EEG guidelines from 2009, the solar industry in Germany is facing a secure future. In 2009, approximately 4,0 GWp (Gigawatt Peak) photovoltaic energy was installed in Germany, twice as much as in the year before, amounting to more than 50 % of the world-wide PV capacity. install PV systems on fallow agricultural or industrial sites, on landfi lls or on military conversion sites. The share of open areas and large roof structures is growing, making the installation of PV systems for the own use or for the lease of usable surfaces more and more interesting. The communal businesses as well as private investors have been showing a steadily increasing willingness to PUK-Solarline Decades worth of experience with the equipment of conventional power plants and the resulting technical challenges have also provided us with experience in delivering large amounts of material, mounting complex systems, short-notice production of all needed construction parts, as well as the corresponding engineering services. This know-how we are able to transfer onto our product group PUK-Solarline. The PUK-Solarline catalogue offers project managers and system providers secure decision support in choosing the suitable mounting system for base frames of photovoltaic systems. It offers system solutions for open space and roof constructions, for one, two, or multi-row module positions in 1- or 2-support options. Our constructions are suitable for all types of foundations. This applies to the ramming, the jolleying of ground anchors and the installation of concrete foundations. With PUK-Solarline we offer a mounting system that is 1. simple in its construction 2. statically optimized and 3. inexpensive and easy to install. Our module-independent system types are based on the system-specific variables (location, foundation, module rows, table size, etc.) and on the calculation of our system statics. We use mostly hot-dip galvanized steel profi les from our well-proven standard program. Our range of services includes the foundation, delivery and installation of the structures as well as the assembly of the modules. We will design a customized offer for every PV system according to the individual project defi nition. PUK-WERKE KG is a member of the German Solar Industry Association. A5

13 PUK System statics PUK-Software The dimensioning software PUK-SolarWare SW 10.1 enables us to dimension the best suitable type of base frame for every PV-system. Only four steps are necessary to determine the minimum amount of material and mounting work needed. PUK-SolarWare SW 10.1 is able to provide the statically verifi cation for the constructions based on the requirements of DIN 1055, the Eurocodes and DIN This structural analysis is valid in all European countries because it allows for the respective different wind load and snow load variables. The results of our calculation software deliver information on the optimized profi les and support spacing, furthermore, the profi tability of whether a 1-support or a 2-support system can be used is examined. With PUK-SolarWare SW 10.1, the developer can be completely sure that the chosen mounting system is statically tested and economically optimized. 14 PUK Assembly A Mounting services oundation, delivery and installation of the structures as well as the assembly of the modules to various examples. 1. Ramming of the support profiles 2. Mounting of cross beams The profi les are inserted into the ground with hydraulic pile-drives. Depending on the soil class, the pillars are rammed 1.5 to 2 meters into the ground. or the mounting of cross beams with an inclined head plate in one support as well as two support systems, the necessary table incline is fi xed. 3. Mounting of longitudinal beams 4. Mounting of module carriers and modules The mounted longitudinal beams give the module table fi rst stability. They have the purpose of holding the vertical module carriers and are also intended for the very fi xing of modules for multi-row tables. With the module carriers the table obtains its statically calculated stability. The modules are mounted on it with approved module clamps. The delivery of course includes detailed mounting instructions and suggestions. A7

15 technical details Corrosion protection Since the solar support systems are used in outside areas, PUK-Werke KG offers exclusively galvanized steel parts according to the dipping method (DIN EN ISO 1461). Hot-dip galvanizing according to the dipping method (DIN EN ISO 1461) Screw joints Screw joints in outdoor areas are submitted to dynamic pressure (caused by e.g. wind). Securing precautions for screw joints such as e.g. the use of screw securing lacquer or fan-shaped washers are therefore necessary. It is absolutely pivotal in this context that the tightening torques (according to chart 1) are observed. According to DIN EN ISO 1461 the middle local layer thickness is at least 45 μm for mat. thickness 1,5 mm 55 μm for mat. thickness of 1,5 bis 3 mm 70 μm for mat. thickness of 3 bis 6 mm Mounting component parts can be delivered in highgrade steel or aluminium when indicated. Chart 1: Tightening torques [Nm] non-binding recommended values according to VDI 2230 Potential equalisation Potential equalization between longitudinal beams is provided by the corresponding connectors. The certifi - cate for the individual application can be provided. Lightning protection PV roof systems need to be included into the given lightning protection for buildings. Building-ground The fundament can be constructed by ramming of support profi les, jolleying of ground anchors or the installation of concrete foundations. In order to calculate the fundaments and determining the ram depth geological surveys resp. test ramming and pull-out tests are mandatory. A8
