2 GENERAL RULES & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY Please read carefully The Committee reserves the right to accept or reject entries without assigning a reason. Entries are accepted on condition that exhibitors agree to abide by the Show Rules and rules for use of the Sydney International Equestrian Centre. REGISTRATION & MEMBERSHIP APSB & WELSH CLASSES ALL ponies entered in classes for APSB Ponies must be registered or if under 4yrs of age, foal recorded with the Australian Pony Stud Book Society Inc. OR eligible for reciprocal registration with the exception of foals which must be eligible to be so registered. Stallions, Mares or Geldings are required to be adult registered to compete in classes for ponies 4yrs & over Ponies entered in Welsh classes must be registered with either the APSB or WPCS of Australia Inc. unless stated otherwise. For ponies entered under Welsh registration, membership of the APSB SOCIETY MUST BE the same as the membership reflected on the Welsh Registration papers. Ponies entered in Welsh classes that are registered with the WPCS of Australia must provide copy of registration papers with entries. ALL registered owners/partnerships/lessee of ponies competing in APSB Pony and Purebred Welsh classes must be current full financial members of the APSB. Copy of current year membership card to be provided. PRESENTATION OF WELSH Welsh Ponies & Cobs MUST be presented as per the APSB Rules and Regulations. Clipped and plaited ponies will not be judged. PRESENTATION OF SHETLANDS Shetlands MUST be presented as per the APSB Rules and Regulations. Clipped and dyed Shetlands will not be judged. PRESENTATION OF AUSTRALIAN PONIES Australian pony foals cannot be clipped as per the APSB Rules and Regulations. NON APSB CLASSES ALL ponies competing in breed or colour classes other than APSB classes must be registered with a relevant breed Society for the class entered. Copies of Registration Papers and Current Membership cards must be provided with entries. AGE OF ALL PONIES To be calculated as from 1st August. Every pony foaled before 1st August in any year shall be deemed to be one year older on that date DEFINITIONS Exhibitor: means the person or stud on whose behalf and in whose name the entry form is lodged. Owner: means the person who is registered as the owner of such pony in a Stud book or register of the APSB Society or any other Studbook or Breed register. Where a pony has been leased and a lease form lodged with the APSB Society, the lessee shall be eligible to enter such pony, but must be a member of the APSB. Newcomer: A Newcomer is a pony that has not competed under saddle in any competition prior to January 1, Newcomers must be ridden in a snaffle bit. Filly: A female 3yrs of age or under which has not had a foal. Colt: A male 3yrs of age or under that has not been gelded. Gelding: All ponies entered in gelding classes MUST be gelded Broodmare: A Broodmare is a mare which is in foal, has a positive pregnancy test and is due to foal in the current breeding season (prior to 31 July), which has a foal at foot or a mare which has had a foal registered with the relevant breed society within the last three years. BROODMARES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE IN ANY OTHER CLASS IN THE SAME BREED SECTION OR IN ANY RIDDEN CLASS. (Group Classes accepted) Wet mares MUST be accompanied by their foals. Foals: May compete for Best Junior Exhibit of their Breed Section. STALLION/COLTS Stallions or colts are not to be handled or ridden by a child under 17yrs HARNESS CLASSES A Novice Harness Pony is one which has not been placed first in any harness class at an agricultural show or equivalent at closing date of entries. THIRD GENERATION AUSTRALIAN Ponies entered in these classes must have a Third Generation certificate or be certified 3G on certificate of registration. Champions in this section are only eligible to compete for Supreme Third Generation Australian Pony. RING AREA- (The whole wooden fenced arena). No Prams, Golf Carts, bikes or scooters are permitted in the show ring area. This will be strictly monitored and is a requirement of the Sydney International Equestrian Centre. (The exception to this is the Stable Warden s cart) No Dogs are allowed in the ring area. All dogs must be kept on leads at all times whilst at SIEC. ENTRY FEES - Refer to Entry Forms FREE CLASSES If an Exhibitor enters 11 classes, they will only need to pay for 10 and the 11 th will be free (e.g. Enter 11, pay for 10, enter 22, and pay for 20 and so on. PAYMENT OF FEES Whilst we understand that many shows have closing dates around the same time as the NSH & PS, we will accept an agreed late payment date should you wish to pay at a later date (no later than 20/10/16). This can only be done if arranged with the Treasurer and your entries must still be received by the closing date of entries. Any cheque or negotiable instrument received or accepted by the Committee shall be deemed to have been received as a conditional payment only and subject to payment upon presentation Records should be kept of all payments sent through the mail in case of same going astray. All cheques and negotiable instruments should be made payable to APSB SOCIETY NSW BRANCH. LATE ENTRIES Late entries will NOT be accepted after the closing date. ENTRIES ON THE DAY Day Entries will be accepted with the following fees payable: Pony already entered: $30 per extra class entered on the day Pony not already entered: First class $65 (includes $30.00 admin & ground amenities) per class then $35.00 for each class thereafter. Ponies not already entered will also have applicable Day Parking or Stabling Fees applied to the above fees. Stabling will also incur a $75.00 stable bond REFUNDS Entry fees and stable fees will not be refunded (excluding cleaning bonds) SUBSTITUTION OF ENTRIES No substitution of entries will be permitted under any circumstances after the closing date of entry. EXHIBIT NUMBERS Exhibit numbers for exhibits must be collected from the Show Office. These numbers may be cut to fit number holders or worn on the handler/rider s back. RIBBON RAFFLE Exhibitors may return ribbons and receive a ticket in a raffle. Prize will be advised at show. ENTRANT NAMES All ponies must be entered under their registered name and in the name of the current registered owner as per APSB membership. Where an exhibitor has or is in a partnership, that partnership has to have APSB membership. Where an exhibitor has or is a partner in more than one prefix each prefix or owner will be treated as a separate identity for any award involving a point score. ONE HANDLER RULE Changing of handlers during any class is not permitted 2

3 CATALOGUE A catalogue will be supplied to each exhibitor at the show who has pre-entered classes. No pony or exhibit will be permitted to compete in a class in which it is not catalogued unless officially transferred. TIMETABLE OF JUDGING The APSB accepts no responsibility if judging time conflict with one or more classes in which an exhibitor may be entered. Where conflict does occur, it is the responsibility of the exhibitor to notify a withdrawal from the class. TIMETABLE A timetable for events will be forwarded to exhibitors who provide a business sized stamped self- addressed envelope. Saturday classes will be timetabled. Friday & Sunday classes WILL NOT be timetabled. ONE RIDER RULE If a rider qualifies more than one pony for a Championship or Supreme, a substitute rider must be available to ride the other pony or ponies as a rider may only ride one (1) pony in any Championship or Supreme SAFETY HELMETS All riders must wear an approved safety helmet at all times when mounted. Junior Drivers in harness classes must wear an approved safety helmet DRESS CODE FOR HANDLERS ALL Handlers of ponies must wear a suitable hat whilst in the ring (not a baseball cap). NO Handler will be admitted to the ring if they are not wearing a hat. ACCEPTABLE DRESS FOR EXHIBITORS AND STEWARDS Gentleman: Slacks, coat, tie and hat. Ladies: Jodhpurs, jacket, tie and hat or Skirt, blouse and hat, or Slacks, shirt and hat. NO SHORTS OR THONGS OR CASUAL CAPS JUDGES Judges for the various classes are correct at time of printing. However, it should be realised that situations can change between now and November. Therefore if a Judge whose name appears in this Schedule cannot (for whatever reason) meet their commitment, then another person will be selected to take his/her place. Any change of judge/s will be advised in the timetable or catalogue if possible. No exhibitor/owner will have contact with any Judge anytime throughout the show. STEWARDS Stewards will be appointed to rings at the discretion of the NSW APSB Committee Stewards must not discuss exhibits with judges. If there is a query on a particular exhibit the stewards must relay this to the Ringmaster Mr. Fred Riley. DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOUR If the Chief Steward in any ring or the Ringmaster, in his/her opinion finds that the behavior of any exhibitor is offensive or disruptive in any way to any other competitor or to the judge, that exhibitor may be eliminated from that event. That bullying behavior or malicious comments regarding judges or judging within the vicinity of the arena will not be tolerated and such behavior will be referred to the Committee. PRODUCE SUPPLIES Phone number of local produce supplier is available from the Secretary. COMMITTEE ACCEPT NO RESPONSIBILITY It is the policy of the Committee to see that all due care is taken to protect property, but the Committee shall not be liable to any person in case of loss or damage by reason of any defect, accident, negligence or neglect however arising. PROTESTS Any protests must be lodged along with a $100 fee within 2 hours of the occurrence. Protest fees are not refundable if the protest is dismissed. Contact Ringmaster Mr. Fred Riley MEASURING Measuring of all exhibits is not compulsory. EFA, Hack Council or Royal Show measuring certificates for the current year will be accepted. A number of classes will be selected and all ponies entered in these classes must be measured before competing. Ponies will also be randomly selected for measuring by Show Officials. An allowance of 3/8 will be made for shoes. Measurer will sign a transfer slip for each class transferred and this must be handed to the Ring Steward on entering the ring. Any pony which is transferred from one height class to another will be recorded accordingly. IDENTIFICATION OF EXHIBITS Each exhibit must be able to be identified by checking brands and/or markings against its registration certificate. Each exhibitor must ensure that each exhibit bears the exhibit number allocated to it according to the catalogue in each class in which it competes. Unless otherwise directed, each exhibit shall carry the same exhibit number in all events it contests. Exhibit numbers must be tied around the exhibitor s waist and worn on the back or otherwise prominently displayed. Every exhibitor shall be deemed to have guaranteed the correctness of the contents of every entry form submitted by him/her or on his/her behalf. As exhibits are accepted upon the faith of the correctness of the relevant entry form the exhibitor shall be subject to such fine or penalty as the Committee may determine in respect of any misstatement or mis-description contained in a certificate of entry lodged by or on behalf of such exhibitor. A mis-statement or mis-description shall be deemed to have been contained in an entry form if the exhibit on the day of exhibition does not conform in all respects with the certificate of entry. CRUELTY TO ANIMALS No Exhibitor shall engage or be knowingly involved in cruelty to a pony or horse. The NSW APSB Society Inc. shall be the sole Judge of what constitutes cruelty. Any case of cruelty must be reported immediately to the Ringmaster, accompanied by documentary evidence in support. STABLE AREA No Prams, Golf Carts, bikes or scooters are permitted in the stable complex area. This will be strictly monitored and is a requirement of the Sydney International Equestrian Centre. (The exception to this is the Stable Warden s cart) TROPHIES AND SPONSORSHIP All sponsors will be acknowledged in the show catalogue is received prior to printing.
