1 1 THE PROGRAMMES Madras Assemblies of God Bible College offers Regular fulltime Programs and Evening Parttime Programs. Regular fulltime Courses are offered to men, particularly young men, who have committed for fulltime ministry. Evening part-time Courses are open to all, both men and women with fulltime and part-time ministry calling. A. EVENING COLLEGE PROGRAMMES 1. Certificate in Christian Ministry (C.C.M.) This program covers a period of two years of study and the minimum requirement for the completion of this course is forty credit hours. This course is offered to those who have studied below 10 th standard. This course is offered only in Tamil medium. It was started in June a. Purpose/Objectives To give sound Biblical training to lay people, so that each believer does the work of an evangelist. To train Christian workers those who are unable to go to full-time Bible College due to their ministry responsibility. To reach the group of people who work during the day and have time only in the evening to equip themselves. To reach the working community who desires to equip themselves in the Word of God, so that they could effectively do the ministry in their working places. b. Target group The following people are the target groups for the evening college courses. Lay people who want to grow in the knowledge of the Word, Lay people who want to be trained for the ministry that they are already involved in as part-time workers. Lay people who want to be trained for ministry that they will be doing as full-time workers in the future.

3 3 d. Entrance Requirements The Candidate must have a genuine salvation experience. He must have taken immersion baptism. He must have experienced the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. He must have good health and physically fit for studies. He must have the recommendation of his local pastor. e. Graduation Requirements It is the responsibility of the student to make sure he is completing required courses on schedule to graduate on time. In order to be eligible for a degree, the candidate must have completed the required number and distribution of courses and have met the other requirements of the College. In order to graduate with Certificate in Christian Ministry, the student must have satisfactorily completed the following requirements. The student must have successfully completed a minimum of 112 credit hours of required studies. The Student must have completed all prescribed courses in all six semesters (three year) with a passing grade (C-) in each course. The graduating student must have effectively and faithfully done his field work assigned by the College in all three years. The student must keep a good conduct and exemplary Christian life. Any serious moral failure will result in dismissal and such student will not be eligible for Graduation. The student must have settled all financial obligations to the College. The student must have returned all library books to the Library or, if lost, restitution made. Under extreme circumstances, graduation may be given to students in absentia. However, those students must make formal request in writing to the Academic Office no later than four weeks before the date of graduation. The Board must grant final approval.

4 4 2. Diploma in Christian Ministry (Dip. C.M.) This program covers a period of two academic years of study and the minimum requirement for the completion of this course is forty five credit hours. Students who have passed Higher Secondary (+2) o r equivalent are eligible for this course. This course is both in Tamil and English medium. The English Medium class of Diploma in Christian Ministry was started in June 2005 and the Tamil medium class was started in June Students who have graduated each year from this program are shown in the table below. a. 7 7 3. Master of Arts in Christian Ministry (M.A.C.M.) This program covers a period of two academic years of study and the minimum requirement for the completion of this course is sixty credit hours. Students who have completed undergraduate Degree or equivalent are eligible for this course. This course is both in Tamil and English medium. The English medium of this was started in June 1999 and the Tamil medium was started in in June Students who have graduated each year from this program are shown in the table below. Tamil and English medium classes are conducted separately. Working knowledge of English is compulsory for the students those join the English medium class. The classes are conducted from 6.00 to 8.30 pm on Monday, Thursday and Friday. a. 10 10 The grading system used We use the following grading system in MABC. GRADING SYSTEM Marks Grade Class 80 above A+ Distinction 75 79% A Excellent First Class 70 74% A- Superior 65 69% B+ Very Good 60 64% B Good Second Class 55 59% B- Satisfactory 50 54% C+ Barely Satisfactory 45 49% C Poor Third Class 40 44% C- Very Poor 0 39% Fail The teachers are directed by the College Administration to be more careful when correcting exam papers and teachers do maintain seriousness and sincerity with regards to correction of exam papers. After the correction, teachers distribute the exam papers to the students, facilitating them to go through their papers and check their papers for themselves. If any student finds omissions, he can freely approach the respected teacher for reevaluation.
