BGST exists to deliver a high quality biblical and theological training in a form which will be accessible to Christians in all callings and walks of life. Our courses are designed to feed the mind, stir the heart, and nurture authentic Christian discipleship. If you are curious, here is an opportunity for you to find out more. Over the last twenty years, we have developed a wide range of teaching approaches and methods to help students balance their learning with the rhythms of family life, work and ministry. * BGST s programmes are accredited by the Asia Theological Association.

3 AT BGST At BGST, we offer: More than 40 courses per year, ranging from biblical studies, theology, spirituality to marketplace studies, taught by both local and foreign lecturers. Diverse training formats: online learning; weekly, fortnightly, monthly or intensive courses (during weekday evenings, weekends, etc). Flexible programme and assignment requirements that cater to needs of part time students and laity.

4 THE PROGRAMME The Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree offers a broad-based training tailored for those involved in leading, teaching and mentoring in church or para-church settings. It is suitable for professional ministry (pastors, ministry workers) or lay leaders. In this age of increasing globalisation and technology, professional ministry and lay leaders face the challenge of making disciples in a variety of cultural and social contexts. The BGST MDiv helps to equip for this challenge with a curriculum that includes not only the traditional theological disciplines, but also reflections on living out our faith in the modern South-East Asian context.

5 THE CURRICULUM The BGST MDiv includes courses in Biblical Studies (including Biblical Languages), History of Christianity, Theological Studies, Christian Education, Christian Spirituality, Intercultural Studies, Marketplace Studies, Missions Studies and Ministerial Leadership. Our Master of Divinity programme provides equipping and training which is suitable for both professional ministry and lay leaders. The MDiv can be taken on a part-time or full-time basis.

7 ADMISSIONS ADMISSIONS CRITERIA A minimum qualification of Bachelor s degree from a recognized institution or Graduate Diploma in Christian Studies with a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of a possible 4.0. English proficiency will also be considered for international students. The personal and spiritual aspects of the applicant will also be considered. Those who do not possess a first degree may audit most classes or take most courses for credit under Special Studies. All foreign students must register for a minimum of 15 credits of courses per semester. The minimum average grade for graduation is 3.0.

8 APPLICATION & ENROLMENT Applicants who have an undergraduate degree in biblical or theological studies may be able to transfer credits from their previous coursework. Applications should be made in writing to the Registrar with relevant transcripts and other required documentation. Students who have completed the MCS may if they wish to proceed to the MDiv. All 60 credits from the MCS may in principle be counted towards the MDiv. This permission is subject to the following condition: If a MCS thesis/research project (6 credits) has been completed, this and any guided study or seminar work done in preparation for the MCS thesis/research project will be counted as equivalent to 3 credits worth of electives under MDiv programme. DURATION The maximum period of time for the completion of the Master of Divinity is 8 years. APPLICATION Please download a copy of the Application Form from our website at
