Job outline: The Guidance Counselor reports to the Director of College Counseling in a teamoriented department; practices ethical and professional standards in the effective management of a guidance and college counseling program; and promotes Jesuit values and student success. Primary Responsibilities: Enacting positive changes in educational, social, emotional, and/or behavioral functioning. Providing crisis counseling and/or responsive services as needed. Collaborating with the assigned counselor on learning adjustment plans. Writing clear, personalized, and effective letters of recommendation. Assisting students with college advising and meeting admissions and financial-aid deadlines. Coordinating group meetings for parents and students, college visits, and speaker events. Developing and teaching an appropriate counseling curriculum for assigned grade level(s). Assisting with administering standardized testing on campus throughout the year. Participating in informational evenings and coordinating with local organizations to disseminate information on multiple topics. Other duties as assigned. A Master s degree with a certification or license in school counseling. Excellent counseling, writing, and communication skills, and technological proficiency. A minimum of three years of experience.
