10 COUNSELORS IN TRAINING CITs TAKE FIELD TRIPS TO WATER PARKS, MINI-GOLF, AND ACTION TERRITORY! COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING PROGRAM ENTERING GRADES 7-10 The Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program is for youth who want to learn to work with children and develop leadership skills. CITs are assigned to one of the Glencoe Park District summer camp programs after undergoing mandatory training. CITs help implement activities and projects under the supervision of the CIT director and camp directors. They attend four CIT field trips throughout the eight weeks of camp and accompany their assigned groups on camp outings. Registration is separated by full- and half-day programs. Please note that half-day camp days and times vary depending on placement. Two CIT options are available. Option 1 is the full eight-week season; option 2 is four weeks only. One of the camp goals is to teach responsibility, so CITs must commit to the entire registered camp session. Please note: CITs are required to attend CIT trips and training days. CITs are not with their camp group on these days.
