1 General Cleaning Requirements All areas subject to General Cleaning under this Section are scheduled according to a two (2) week, or Fortnightly, programme. Empty recycling bin into external MGBs. Full vacuum carpet and mats. Vacuum fabric covered chairs. Sweep, wash and buff vinyl. Empty recycling bins into external MGBs. Shampoo carpets.

4 Sweep floors. Clean drain holes, as required. Wash bench tops. Clean whiteboards. 5 Teaching, Research and Preparation Laboratories NB: Unless cleared and/or tidied bench tops are not be cleaned. Sweep floor, wash scuff/shoe marks. Clean whiteboards (including rails and surrounds) with approved chemicals, unless otherwise advised. Clean sinks and polish dry. 6 PC 2 Laboratories NB: All of these labs have dark blue and orange signs stating they are PC2 facilities. General waste from these labs is placed by users in bin provided outside door of lab and is collected by cleaners from that designated location. Sweep floor, wash scuff/shoe marks. NB: Cleaning staff will not empty bins, clean bench tops or clean sinks; these areas will be attended to by users of the Laboratories.

6 8 Lifts Vacuum floors Remove all marks (ensure all edges, from walls, doors, corners and door tracks are detailed). Mop all non-carpet floors. Spot clean any stains. Remove all marks ceilings, indicator and selector panels (ensure any stainless steel is not left oily). Remove rubbish. 9 Other Areas Remove all rubbish including cigarette butts from external congregation areas. Minor graffiti to be removed when Empty all cigarette butt bins. Sweep external fire escapes. External entrances and areas around perimeter of the identified building core to be swept. Cobwebs from internal of all buildings to be removed where accessible.
