A highlight event of Singapore Art Week, the show will present a vibrant and wide-ranging collection of artworks investment-grade art with a strong secondary market and auction following, plus works by some of the world s most interesting and promising artists. Collectors and art buyers are invited to browse and buy original paintings, limited editions, sculpture and photography, as well as large-scale installations; and to participate in an enriching program of complimentary talks, tours, painting demonstrations and special programs for children. nd Show Director Douwe Cramer noted that the 2 edition of Singapore Contemporary will be larger and more diverse than the first show in 2016, providing collectors and art enthusiasts with an even

We expect to welcome more than 90 exhibitors from 20 countries throughout Asia and the world, up from 65 exhibitors in January It is clear that the steadily growing interest from galleries and artists from around the world in Singapore Art Week is a way to engage with the increasingly sophisticated art market in Southeast Asia, he explained. Cramer also announced the inaugural presentation of Photo17 Singapore: We are excited to bring one of the largest-ever photo presentations to Singapore. Photo17 is a curated platform, with the objective of demonstrating the flexibility, refinement and creativity that can be expressed through this medium at the cutting edge of contemporary art. Innovation and the use of new technologies are driving a growing interest in photography in particular amongst younger art collectors. SPECIAL FEATURES PHOTO17 SINGAPORE & PHOTO17 TALKS Singapore Contemporary introduces its first curated platform dedicated to photography Photo17 Singapore. This unique exhibition is one of the largestever held in Singapore and promotes photography as a prominent artistic and expressive art form. Organised into four diverse yet interconnected sections documentary, fine art and conceptual photography, mixed media photo and installations Photo 17 will be supported by informative talks covering a range of photography related subjects by experts in the field, including The Art Market and Photography: the Challenges of a New Art Medium by Curator Patricia de la Motte and When Photography Becomes Art by Spanish photo artist Xavier Comas. 3 ARTIST DIALOGUES & DAILY PAINTING DEMONSTRATIONS Returning by popular demand to the 2 nd edition of Singapore Contemporary, this lively series of curated solo artist exhibits offers viewers the chance to meet the artists in person and to find out the story behind the art. For many collectors and art enthusiasts, learning about the artist's motivations and inspirations contextualizes the art, bringing it closer to the viewer. Daily live painting demonstrations will give visitors a fascinating glimpse into the variety of processes and techniques utilized by artists to create their stunning works. CHINA ENCOUNTERS China Encounters will again be a prominent feature of Singapore Contemporary. Presenting a series of works by selected galleries, artists and artist collectives themed around the art narrative that revisits, redefines and reinterprets the Chinese cultural and historical landscape through a contemporary Chinese perspective, the aim is to incorporate emerging and up-and-coming artists from China into the greater international contemporary art market. 4 SPECIAL EVENTS, TALKS & TOURS SOVEREIGN ART CHARITY STUDENTS PRIZE: This important new prize, created with the aim of highlighting young artistic talent in Singapore and underscoring the importance of art in education, is presented in conjunction with Singapore Contemporary. Visitors are invited to view the shortlisted and winning works by students from local secondary schools and art institutions, and to vote for their favourite, at the display in the entrance area. Launched in 2003, the Sovereign Art Foundation has raised over US$5 million for art-related charitable causes through the auction of artworks shortlisted for the Sovereign Asian Art Prize. COMPLIMENTARY CHILDRENS PROGRAMS: Singapore Contemporary invites children to take part in a range of exciting and informative programs, including a hands-on kids studio, where budding artists can experiment with a diversity of mediums, and fun, educational art tours. All programs are complimentary and on a first-come, firstserved basis.

5 KIDS ART STUDIO: The Macey & Sons Kids Art Studio, partnering with Little Artists, is a fun place for children from 3yrs to 11yrs of age to engage in supervised painting, drawing and other art projects. Parents can either join in, or leave children for up to an hour while they explore the show. Experienced art teachers, joined by acclaimed Italian artist Francesco Lietti, will coach children in the creation of a unique artwork to either display at the show or take home. KIDS ART TOURS: The Macey & Sons Kids Art Tours, partnering with Little Artists, will guide curious young minds on a journey of artistic exploration, taking in a variety of artists, styles and media. Children from 5yrs to 11yrs of age are welcome to join. COMPLIMENTARY ART TOURS FOR ADULTS: Singapore Contemporary will offer visitors an enriching and diverse program of Complimentary Art Tours. Qualified docents will lead visitors through a World of Art, covering a variety of art-related subjects and geographical regions.
