2 ACADEMIC PROGRAMS The know-how of the Fundación Claves de Arte Since its inception, the Fundación Claves de Arte has pursued its mission to become a leading educator for studies in the art market, and thereby fill a gap existing in higher education in Spain. To that end, we offer innovative programs that combine the intellectual virtues of academic knowledge with the indispensable skills for the business environment. In our commitment to excellence, reflected in the high degree of experience and professionalism of our faculty, our goal is to educate and provide our students with all of the knowledge, tools and resources they will need to grow as professionals who contribute to society by opening up new areas and opportunities in the art world. Over the last century, as the visual image has become increasingly influential in our society, the boundaries of art have greatly expanded and art itself has taken on a much greater role in so many areas of human activity. Financial prosperity and the rise of new technologies have helped generate greater interest in art, which in turn has brought about new, thought-provoking theories on the art market and its unique characteristics, now more universal than before with the disappearance of many barriers in our globalized world. Fully convinced that art is also a powerful tool for social integration, the Fundación Claves de Arte strives to engage the more disadvantaged sectors of our society with programs that help these groups develop through art and through the values that have traditionally been associated with it, but which are no less essential to human dignity and the free development of the self. The support we receive from respected individuals and entities in the academic, artistic and social spheres strengthens our faith in our objectives and is itself the essence of our success. Lourdes Martín de Peralta President of the Fundación Claves de Arte 2

The e-learning method of our Art Market Expert program provides the same excellence that the Fundación Claves de Arte has achieved in this sector with all the advantages of online education, a format that has become increasingly prevalent, and that allows us to reach people in other countries and markets. The online platform allows students to access the most complete content and professional guidance with the greatest ease. This program is the first step in adapting our Masters Degree in the Art Market and Management of Related Enterprises to the on-line format, and soon we will be offering it as a blended learning program. As the Art Market Expert program corresponds to Module 2 of the Masters Degree, students who successfully complete the Art Market Expert program may be admitted to the blended learning Masters Degree program and receive that Degree by fulfilling all of the remaining requirements. The Art Market Expert program is a 16-ECTS-credit course, in line with European university standards, and is recognized by the Universidad Antonio de Nebrija s Business School in Madrid, one of Spain s most prestigious business schools. The Fundación Claves de Arte has a committed faculty of professionals with years of experience teaching seminars and other classes at the Masters level in addition to their successful activities in the international art market. They are able to enhance their teaching through fascinating real-life examples and cases that will help students better understand how theory becomes practice in the day-to-day of the art world. 10 ACADEMIC PROGRAMS How it works Each student will be assigned a password to access the online platform, content, links, forum and tutorial sessions. Course content will be made available to students at a steady pace, for both flexible learning and constant progress. Courses are designed around the practical application of theoretical concepts as they pertain to the art market, and so the material for the online sessions is reinforced through real-life cases, reference materials, questions for further thought, and activities that allow students to measure their ability to foresee and solve problems, apply the methodology and use the tools they have been taught in each unit of the course. Time management The program consists of 400 hours altogether, or what is 25 hours per ECTS credit. Each session takes approximately 2.5 hours, 25% of which is for studying and 75% for activities. We recommend that students dedicate 25 hours per week to the program. For the duration of the program, students will have access to two courses per month and can organize their work according to their availability, with flexibility for learning and research. Material To get a head start on the material, students will have access to the course syllabi, bibliographies and online resources as soon as their enrollment is complete. They will then be able to download course content and additional documentation in pdf format, for their work off-line. Exercises and evaluation Each session will end with self-assessment tests immediately followed by automatic correction. The exercises that will determine the students final grade will focus on case method and be based on real-life cases that students will be asked to respond to on the basis of their own research.
