2 Program/Course information Visual Communication SUBJECTS Visual Communication Web Design Typography New Media Computer Graphics 3D Design Animation Visual Effects Colour & Design Illustration Motion Graphics Commercial Photography Digital Imaging AWARDS Diploma of Graphic Design 2 years full-time Graphic Design is the core focus study involving in-depth study into Design Processes, Drawing/ Illustration Techniques, Typography, Printing and Reproduction Processes and Computer Graphics. The Diploma of Graphic Design is designed so that you experience all study areas at a foundation level, before you are required to choose your specialisation. Specialisation units include options to study in areas of Graphic Design and Advertising, Web Design, Motion Graphics, Prepress & Print Production. Certificate IV In Design 1 year full time/18 months part-time This program is vocationally based with a strong emphasis on creative design skills and technical proficiency. The course has been developed in liaison with both the Graphic Design and Printing Industries, and includes the skill requirements nominated by industry. The program is supported by industry through visiting specialists and industry visits. Diploma of Screen (Animation) 2 years full time Students have the opportunity to develop their concepts into short animated films and standalone pieces. Along the way, you will develop skills in hand-drawn animation, web animation, 3D animation, character design, cartooning, life drawing, animated motion, comic book art and other illustration techniques. Diploma of Photoimaging 2 years full time This program incorporates both digital and analogue skills. Students will be introduced to a broad range of skills including lighting, image capture, medium/ large format, digital enhancement and output. During the program you will produce images from a variety of genres such as Portrait/Wedding, Advertising/Commercial, Photo Documentary/ Editorial, and Illustrative/Landscape. Certificate IV in Photoimaging 2 years part time This program incorporates both digital and analogue skills in black and white and colour. Students will be introduced to a broad range of skills including lighting, image capture, medium format, digital enhancement and output. Performing Arts SUBJECTS Performing Arts Music Theatre Design Costume Design Costume History Props Design Model Making Scenic Art AWARDS Diploma of Live Production, Theatre & Events (Construction & Manufacturing) 1 year full time The program focuses on set and prop construction and scenic art finishing. Beginning to intermediate construction techniques are taught from standard theatre flats with bracing, to using foam-based sculpted approaches for 3-Dimensional finishes. A variety of moulding and casting approaches are explored in the prop making curriculum with emphasis on the construction of urethane rubber based hand puppets. Advanced Diploma of Arts (Acting) 2.5 years full time This program provides students with practical skills and theoretical knowledge to engage in the Performing Arts initially as actors and performance makers. The program prides itself on conducting one of the most stimulating and rigorous programs for the studies of vocal and movement training in performance within state and national tertiary institutions. Students will use technology to develop their performance, theory, technical and production skills in a practical and relevant medium. From gigs to contracts, songwriting to midi, this program is designed for the artist who is waiting for the right opportunity to take the next step in the music industry. Diploma of Music Industry (Technical Production) 1 year full time In this program students will gain experience in setting up and running PA systems at events, studio recording techniques, commercial audio production skills using computer software, basic sound and music theory, basic stage lighting, cable care and repair, the Australian Music Industry, copyright law and Australian music business practices. Diploma of Music Industry Business 1 year full time This program is designed to give young music professionals the working knowledge to take their place in the music business industry and is delivered by experienced and qualified teachers who are actively involved in the music industry. 4 Program/Course information Vocational Graduate Certificate in Architecture Digital Illustration 1 year part time This program will open up opportunities for learners in digital illustration, acknowledging the way that technology is expanding creative boundaries and emphasises the need for the development of skills in creative technology. The program is designed to demonstrate increased technical understanding of the demands required across the design, creation, development and production of a Digital Architectural Illustration of a major building development. Advanced Diploma of Building Design & Project Administration 1-2 years online This project-based program consists of 4 courses which teaches the skills required for students to work as project team leaders on large projects in a medium to large design office. The program focuses on design, management, presentation and documentation of a major building project. Architectural Computer Aided Drafting 50 hours part time This program is specifically designed to provide students with Architectural CAD Skills. It develops drawing skills to produce architectural plans using specialized computer programs. The program covers basic skills to use CAD software, produce 2D drawings, 3D models and digital presentations. Arts SUBJECTS Jewellery Gemmology AWARDS Certificate III in Jewellery (block release 4 or 8 weeks/3 years Off the job apprentice training in jewellery. This program includes studies in precious and nonprecious metals, gemmology, metal casting, stone setting, jewellery design and manufacture. Certificate III in Engineering (Watchmaking) Apprenticeship Block release 840 hours Description: Off the job apprentice training in watchmaking, including tools, repair techniques and disassembly and reassembly procedures for watches and clocks.
