Grove Christian Camp is located about 12 miles east of Cottage Grove, Oregon in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains and the Row River. There are currently 30 churches in the camp s association throughout Oregon and California, but the camp also services many different churches, schools, and community organizations. Opportunities to serve and encourage others are endless and so it seems is the maintenance on the 104 acres Grove Camp services. 2 INTRODUCTION CAMP MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION (PAGE 1) Each person who works at Grove Camp shares our Core Values and helps to create the Grove Experience for our guests. We work as a team to create an environment conducive to spiritual growth, relaxation and enjoyment for all of our guests. Each staff person has a specific role in creating this experience. The role of the Camp Manager is to provide the physical activity of leadership. The Camp Manager is responsible for the care and stewardship of the facilities, the supervision of facilities and food service employees and volunteers, as well as logistics support to camp directors and rental groups. SUMMARY All positions at Grove Camp, including management positions are hands on. The manager of a department not only coordinates the department but works alongside the staff in getting the work of the department accomplished. The Camp Manager at Grove Christian Service Camp is responsible for the coordination of the maintenance and food service departments and for personnel and operations for: housekeeping, buildings, grounds and maintenance. Building a strong maintenance team that work well and cooperatively together is essential in keeping the buildings and grounds looking loved and well cared for. This job often requires hands on work in each department. The Camp Manager reports to and is supervised by the Executive Director. PERSONNEL RESPONSIBILITIES: (MAY INCLUDE DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE) Responsibility hiring of department supervisor with approval of Executive Director. Supervision of paid staff in facilities and food service. Facilitate weekly staff meeting. Supervise volunteers during work parties and building projects. Cover for facilities staff, food service staff in their absence. Will serve in place of the Executive Director when he is gone from Grove Camp, ill, or otherwise unavailable. Ongoing support through hands-on work in the areas of Food Service, Maintenance, Grounds and coordination of camp activities. OPERATIONS Oversee all maintenance, grounds, housekeeping and program support operations. Comply with all state and local regulations pertaining to the operation of the camp. Insure that the buildings and grounds are safe and well maintained. Insure that all facilities are clean and functional by the start of each camp or rental and that bathrooms and common areas are kept clean throughout a program. Make preparations for the opening of camps. Preparation of camp site and all camp changeovers between groups.

3 CAMP MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION (PAGE 2) LONG RANGE PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION Keep Facilities Team Appointed. Participate in Facilities Team meetings and planning. Provide support to the chairperson of the Facilities Team. Serve as a member of the Grove Support Relations (GSR) Team that is headed by the Executive Director. (The GSR Team is the principal entity that works to cultivate relationships with supporting churches, major donors and board members.) Meet with the Executive Board on a regular basis keeping them informed of plans, needs and concerns. FINANCE Insure that Kitchen, Grounds and Maintenance departments stay within budgetary guidelines. Get approval from Executive Director for any expenditure beyond budget limits. Actively recruit rental groups to use camp facilities while maintaining priority space for Grove Camp sponsored camps and events. Pursue possible grants from outside agencies when appropriate and compatible with the overall philosophy and vision of Grove Christian Service Camp.

RECENT SUCCESS AT GROVE CHRISTIAN CAMP 757 campers attended our teen and youth camps this year! 75 campers accepted Christ at camp this year! 60 kids sent to camp through hymn-sing fundraiser, 27 of them accepted Christ at Camp! $4,000 was raised at camp by the campers for missions this year! We had over 250 volunteers in our 2016 camping season! Time: Full Time Pay: Salary, Health Insurance, Retirement allotment and housing. Ability to work fast paced when job demands it. Ability to work long hours, and at times early and late hours. Able to lift 50 lbs. at any needed time. Able to stand 4-6 hours at a time. Dexterity for operation of some equipment. Physically fit to be able to do long hours. Possess excellent audible abilities for the safety of camp staff.
