1 PROPOSAL FIRST AID TRAINING INTERMED HEALTH CARE ASSISTANCE
2 FIRST AID TRAINING First Aid is the immediate and temporary aid provided to a sick or injured person until medical treatment can be provided. It generally consists of series of simple, life-saving medical techniques that a non-doctor or lay person can be trained to perform with minimal equipment. People who complete the course become certified first-aiders. They will be able to provide urgent care in an emergency. An individual will be informed about safety issues at the workplace and be prepared to react properly during an emergency or accident. Preventative measures are also taught to decrease the likelihood of accidents at the workplace. Objectives: 1. To provide information about the role of first aid people 2. To provide general information and basic principles of first aid 3. To train first aid people in early assessing of medical emergency (primary survey / DRABC) and CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) cases 4. To train first aid people in special medical emergency case 5. To conduct simulation of possible scenario in a working environment First Aider Scope and Tasks A first aider has a duty to achieve below goals: 1. Maintaining victim s life. 2. Protecting unconscious victim 3. Preventing further serious condition 4. Helping faster recovery However, the main priority for a first aider is to maintain victim s life which is maintaining basic life support. This will be achieved, if the first aid is done correctly by doing all the basic life support principles. Level of First Aid Training To full fill the varieties of individual or groups, industrial environment or non industrial environment, there are three level of training programs. The three training programs are: 1. Essential First Aid Training (Level 1) 2. Standard First Aid Training (Level 2) 3. Advance First Aid Training (Level 3) Participant First Aid Training needs to be carrying out thoroughly and effectively. Therefore the numbers of participants needed per session are between people in order to get the skill and group dynamic interactive. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and shoes. It is recommended to wear trousers or pants with sneakers.
3 Organizer The First Aid Training will be conducted by Intermed Health Care Assistance. Instructor In one First Aid Training class it will be guided by 2 (two) certified instructors as a facilitators. Training Venue The venue will be at clients area. Length of Training: The training will be done in a different time depending on the training that is propose. One day training for Essential First Aid Training Program (Level 1) Two days training for Standard First Aid Training Program (Level 2) Four days training for Advance First Aid Training Program (Level 3) Certification Certificate will be given after the participants have completed the training program and passed requirements given. Competence Certificate of Competence will be given if the participants completed the training program and passed the practical & writing tests. Attendances Certificate of Attendance will be given to the participants who completed the training program but did not take or pass on the final tests. Validity Certificate will valid for one year only, and suggest refreshing the training. Training Process: First Aid Training process took 8 10 hours a day with 1 hour lunch break and two 15 minutes break in the morning and afternoon. Training dilivered in Bahasa or English as per client s request. Theory Session Theoriical Session, where participants is given theory and technicque of implementing First Aid Practical Session Practical Session, participant and instructor doing all the practical procedure from the theory given in side the class room. Simulation Session Simulation Session, participants divided into small groups to practice their FAT applicated trough a simulation.
4 Learning Visual Aid To support the participants in the training process, they need to be provided with learning visual aid as follows: Overhead Projector LCD Projector Slide Presentation Computer (Laptop / PC) White Board Visual Aid Training Visual aid training will be provided from the organizer, such as: Mannequin Mask Triangular Bandage Elastic Bandage Wood spalk Stretcher First Aid Kit Long Spine Board Scoop Stretcher Wheel Chair Training Methode: Training methode include: Theory Question & Answer Discussion Practical Simulation Evaluation : Practical Skill & Writing Test
5 FIRST AID TRAINING PROGRAM DESCRIPTION 1. Essential First Aid Training Program (Level 1) This program is design for basic first aid training which should be have for any individual to help the victim in maintaining their life. A company or an indivudual are suggest to participate in this program, especially for those who are in the area of ambulance response time is not less then 30 minutes. Objective: Train first aiders to be able to response fast and properly in early assessing a medical emergency case (primary Survey/DRABC) and to perform CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) when indicated. This expertise when perform precisely, will save a life, prevent disability and reduce agony and pain. Training Material: Chain of Survival Basic Life Support Lung & Heart Resucitation & CPR Circulation & Respiratory system Unconsciousness Recovery Position Chocking Management Wound & Bleeding Wound Dressing & Bandaging technique for dislocation Strain dan sprain Burn, Heat Exhaustion, and Heat Stroke Record Keeping and Reports

Standard First Aid Training Program (Level 2) This is the continuation program which focus on participant s competency in giving firat aid action and stabilizing victims untul teh paramadic took incharge. This program is suggested for people who are appointed by their working environment as the people who are responsible in providing medical emergency cases. Such as; floor warden, company s fire warden, for those who are in the area of ambulance response time is more then 30 minutes. Training Program Training Level Length of Time Standard First Aid Level 2 Competency 2 days (20 hours 45 minute) Target Participants able to implement the principles of emergency situation. Participants able to implement basic life support with the combination of first aid training techniques to various medical emergency and trauma. Participants able to set the priority whose become the first to be handled in multiple-trauma injury. Advance First Aid Training Program (Level 3) This continuation program is focusing to the participants competency in giving the Basic Live Support, Victim s Stabilization, and assisting the paramedic in evacuating the victim to the referral facilities. This program applies for certain people who generally are the first people who would be asked for help in case of emergency in a company, or a rescue team or fire fighter, due to more advance and complex training. Objective: The purpose of this training is to provide comprehensive information and expertise in immediate handling of certain emergency cases. And able to stabilized the victims and supporting paramedic in medical evacuation. Training Program Training Level Length of Time Advance First Aid Level 3 Competency 4 days (40 hours 45 minute) Target Participants able to carry out the principles of emergency situation. Participants able to carry out basic life support with the combination of first aid training techniques to various medical emergency and trauma. Participants able to priority first aid treatment in multiple-trauma injury.
