1 Congratulations on taking this first step towards your dream of performing on stage! The Oshawa Little Theatre Youth Group Program runs from September to May on Saturdays. From September to December we run workshops from We cover all aspects of Musical Theatre, from How to Audition to costumes, hair and makeup and character development. And, of course lots of singing!! In the fall the Youth Group members will audition for a role in our Musical Production (which will be announced in September). When the Youth Group resumes after the Christmas break we begin rehearsing for our production. Our rehearsals increase to full days at the end of February and full days Saturdays and Sundays from March until the show opens. Being a member of the Youth Group is a commitment. Please take some time to review our Rules and Regulations document on the OLT Youth Group web site. To register for an audition please click on the register online link on the Youth Group page. This will give you access to OLT s registration page. All auditions are booked timed auditions you will be given the opportunity to choose the time that works best for you. We will make every effort to accommodate your selection but please understand that due to time constraints we may need to move you to a different time. If you have any questions/concerns about the program please executiveproducer@oshawalittletheatre.com. Please print off this package of forms, fill them out and be sure to bring them along with you on your audition date. 2 AUDITION INFORMATION: All auditions are booked timed auditions please log onto the Theatre Website at and click on the Youth Group tab to register online. If you experience any difficulties then please contact AUDITIONS: Saturday September 13, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm LOCATION: Oshawa Little Theatre 62 Russett Avenue, Oshawa,ON AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: One musical theatre song (Disney is acceptable). o Please bring sheet music o An accompanist will be provided no recorded accompaniment will be permitted. An age appropriate 2 minute monologue - You will be contacted with your audition time slot a few days prior to the audition. - Please arrive minutes prior to your audition time to register. - Don t forget to bring your application forms and teacher reference to your audition.

3 Date: has indicated an interest in applying to the Oshawa Little Theatre Youth Group program. This is an educational program that runs from September to May, culminating in a Musical Production staged at the theatre in May. All applicants are asked to prepare a song and a short monologue which they are to perform for the selection committee. In addition to their performance each applicant is required to provide a letter of reference from a teacher. In just a few sentences, please let us know a bit about the applicant. 4 Cost: Parent / Guardian Commitment Agreement 2014/2015 Program Membership to the OLT Youth Group Theatre Education Program is generously funded and supported by Oshawa Little Theatre. All Youth Group members are also required to participate in fundraising to assist in covering the cost of our workshops. Fundraising will take place in the fall the details of the fundraising initiative will be discussed at the September parent meeting. All Youth Group families MUST become a member of the theatre if your child is successful in the audition process. Cost of the family membership is $30 yearly (This entitles you to family membership benefits including a monthly Membership Newsletter). Youth Group members are required to wear a uniform to each rehearsal. The cost of the uniform is kept as minimal as possible and usually consists of a YG T Shirt, track pants and an option to purchase a YG sweatshirt. More details will be available at the September parent meeting. Volunteer Commitment: Our program is strong because of the commitment from our YG families. Each family is required to contribute at minimum 10 hours of volunteer time at the theatre to assist in the program facilitation. We have a lunch program that all families are required to take turns providing time and food to the Youth Group when the rehearsals extend to full days. Parents and families are also required to assist with the preparation of our musical production. There are numerous areas where you can help out and we provide any necessary training! No experience necessary!! We must have your commitment to volunteer your time and energy to the success of our program.
