All General Horse Show Rules shall apply to the Draft, Drum and Gypsy Shows, unless otherwise stated. It is important that you read thoroughly, understand, enter and comply with all rules pertinent to Oklahoma State Fair Horse Shows as listed on pages preceding show information and as available on the website: GENERAL RULES/ALL BREEDS: NEW IN 2016: *ENTRIES MUST BE PROCESSED ONLINE BY AUGUST 15, 2016 TO AVOID LATE FEES. *Processing fee: $10.00 will be assessed one time and must be paid for each exhibitor/owner [entity]. (NOT assessed per handler/per equine/per division nor per class.) The processing fee will include the office fee and one parking hangtag which will allow parking of one vehicle for the period of time surrounding the specific date(s) of competition. See General Rules for additional parking pass options. *Parking Hangtags will be included with the Exhibitor s packet given out in the Horse Show office upon arrival during normal office hours. Parking hangtags will NOT be distributed at Gate 7 upon arrival. 1) EXHIBITOR SINGLE DAY ADMISSION TICKETS: (bundle of 4/$20.00) IMPORTANT: The Exhibitor Single Day Admission Ticket bundle can only be purchased by exhibitors with original entries being made by last deadline of (Refer to for additional information regarding advance discount ticket options.) Exhibitor s armbands for complete entries processed online no later than or submitted manually and received no later than : a) Will be picked up at OSF Horse Show Office in NE corner of Performance Arena in Barn #6. b) Will allow bearer free admission through Gate 7 only for period of time designated on the armband. c) Must be on exhibitor s wrist and cannot be transferred. d) Cannot be purchased after submission of entries or , whichever comes first, and lost or destroyed armbands cannot be replaced. e) Will be allotted: 1-2 horses entered: 1 armband 3-4 horses entered: 2 armbands 5+ horses entered: 3 armbands (maximum) 1

2 *Reminder: Thursday, September 15, is Opening Day. If you are arriving on this day, we suggest that you do not use a full value admission ticket on this day and merely pay for admission at gate upon arrival ($2.00/cash per person). Please be prepared to pay with cash. 2) NO revision, disassembly or dismantling of stalls. Refer to General Rules for rules/policy regarding disassembly of stalls. 3) Free tack stalls for single owner/farm/stable(s) entered (cannot be shared by more than one owner, stable or farm): Four-Five paid horse stalls = One free tack stall; Six-Seven paid horse stalls = Two free tack stalls; Eight or More paid horse stalls = Three free tack stalls. (OSF will allot and assign these as entries are processed.) 4) No cross entry between classes designated for Draft, Drum Horses and Gypsy horses unless specified otherwise. 5) Ribbons to 6 places in most classes. Exception: Champion and Reserve Champion rosettes only in Championship Halter classes. Trophy belt buckles awarded to 1 st place in class # s 85 & 86. 6) Lunch and/or other breaks at discretion of officials/show management and will be announced. 7) Oklahoma State Fair Horse Show management reserves the right to revise start times and show locations for all days/classes as well as combine classes after entries close. Please re-visit the Oklahoma State Fair website to determine additional and the most current information posted after September 1, ) Current copy of registration papers verifying current gender and current ownership must be submitted with entries for all horses entered in any Drum or Gypsy class. 9) Oklahoma State Fair liability waivers must be completed with all requested names and signatures and must be submitted with entries. 10) All handlers/exhibitors, riders, hitch or team drivers or wagons are required to wear or display OSF provided back number(s) when entering the competition arena. Entries will not be allowed into the show arena without this exhibitor/back number. Not wearing or displaying the correct number may void exhibitor placing and ability to earn any prize money offered therein. 11) Use of individual/privately owned golf carts or other similar motorized transport within State Fair Park gates is strictly prohibited. For possible exception, use thereof must be requested in written application with a per day use fee and a certificate of insurance submitted to OK State Fair management by Contact OSF Show Manager for additional information/application. No golf carts will be allowed without OSF written authorization and issued permit. Minors without a valid driver s license are not allowed to operate any motorized vehicle. 12) Premiums/prize money will be made payable to the RECORDED owner of each horse (or) PAYEE as indicated on the entry form and mailed to the address provided on the entry form. Only one payee per farm/stable/ownership entity. Premiums/prize money will not be issued without a current W-9 form completed in entirety for the individual or corporation to be paid premiums, and MUST be submitted with the original entry, or prior to September 25, It is the exhibitor s responsibility to ensure that the OSF is in possession of a current year, valid, correct and legible W-9 form. Checks for premiums will not be processed or mailed without that document, and OSF will not be responsible for obtaining same. Exhibitors should expect 30 days or more after the close of the Fair for premium checks to be mailed. a) Premiums/prize money will NOT be mailed to any exhibitors with balances due on their accounts or having submitted dishonored checks to OSF. OSF reserves the right to deduct balances due from any earned prize money/premium prior to the processing of the check or distribution thereof. It will be the responsibility of the exhibitor/owner(s) and/or their agents to insure that all fees are paid in full prior to the entered horse show/event. b) Exhibitors with account balances attached to a particular horse/entry will not be allowed entry into the show arena for competition. c) It is the responsibility of the Payee to file, in writing, a claim for lost or incorrect premium awards and this report must be received by the Horse Show Manager at Oklahoma State Fair no later than November 1, d) Prize money/(premiums) will not be awarded to classes not requiring payment of specific class entry fee nor to exhibitors in classes entered in error and/or not entered on entry form(s). More than one owner may participate in a hitch class, but only one owner should make the entry and pay the entry fee for the team. Only one driver is permitted in any of the classes. One rider/passenger is optional. 3) Show Hitch and Cart Classes: a) Class # 63, 78, 81 and 89: an adult must ride with junior/youth drivers. b) Classes # 25, 27, 43, 54, 58, 69, 81, 85, 86, 87, and 88 must be fifth wheel vehicles. c) Traditional Draft Horse show harness is required. (Scotch collars, patent leather, biothane, etc.) d) Drivers cannot cross enter in Novice, Youth and/or Ladies carts. e) Novice drivers are those newer to driving and can enter this class for two years before moving up to Open Cart Classes. 5

6 4) Class #63: North American Six Horse Hitch Classic Series (NASHHCS) Classic Cart Series FINALS: Rules regarding Classic Cart Series Finals: (For more information visit *Top 18 finalists will be invited to participate in Classic Cart Series Finals. *The Classic Cart Series Finals will be a one class / one judge championship. It will be judged by one of the elected Six-Horse Hitch Classic Series Final judges, as selected by the board of directors. *The Classic Cart Series Finals to pay a guaranteed minimum of $2,500.00, to be paid up to 18 places. 5) Class #89: North American Six Horse Hitch Classic Series (NASHHCS) Cart Classic Series (Open Cart): a) Owner must be current year NASHHCS Member. b) Entry fee will be $25.00 c) Purse of $ d) Premiums will be paid to top ten placings: $200, $150, $125, $105, $95, $85, $75, $65, $55, $45 6) Youth is defined as a rider /driver who is eighteen years and younger on January 1 of the calendar year of the show. 7) Youth Decorating: Class #72: Decorating for show is done in the ring. 30 minute time limit. Will be judged on overall neatness and degree of completion. 8) TRAVEL MONEY FOR ENTRIES IN THE OKLAHOMA STATE FAIR OPEN SIX HORSE HITCH CLASS #86 will be granted one time to each ownership entity, post show, by Oklahoma State Fair: a. Up to 250 miles: $250 b. 251 to 500 miles: $500 c. 500 plus miles: $750 Distance determined by city of origin of horses and/or owners as listed on entries to Oklahoma City and as provided by an internet map/direction source. d. In order to be eligible for any travel money, exhibitors must enter, show and be judged in at least three (3) additional/other Draft Horse hitch classes (in addition to/or other than any NASHHCS designated classes) and entry into those classes made with original entries. 8) Farms/Stables qualified for and duly entered in the NASHHCS Six Horse Hitch class(es) will be granted eight (8) complimentary stalls. 9) PREMIUM CODE DEFINITIONS AND PAYOUT SCALE FOR DRAFT DESIGNATED CLASSES or unless other noted herein: ALL classes with one/single entry (horse and/or hitch) will be eligible for the class entry fee (only) being paid, exclusive of any late entry fees that may have been paid, regardless of applied Premium Code. Classes with only two (2) or three (3) entries (entered AND shown) will be eligible for 50% of applied premiums. The Premium Code is designated by a letter or rule in ( ) after each applicable class unless otherwise noted. Amount and distribution of premiums (prize money) will be based on actual number of entries entered, shown and judged in each class. Refer to premium code after each class and premium definitions and scale below. EXCEPTIONS: NASHHCS Six Horse Hitch Classes # d 43, 69 and 85 will be paid: 1 st place: $1,000 / 2 nd place: $900 / 3 rd place: $800 / 4 th place: $700 / 5 th place: $600 / 6 th through 12 th places inclusive: $500. In addition, the AVERAGE WINNERS will be paid: 1 st place: $10,000 / 2 nd place: $6,500 / 3 rd place: $4,000 / 4 TH place: $2,000 / 5 th place: $1,000 / 6 th place: $800 / 7 th through 12 th place: $500 each. It is important that you read, understand and enter in accordance with these rules with special attention to the rules governing cross entering of classes. However, class #21 will be a modified and unofficial cone/obstacle class and NOT defined by the aforementioned rules. 6

7 2) All horses entered in any class designated for Gypsy horses must be considered a full blood Gypsy horse and must be duly registered as such and be registered within at least one of the following registries/associations and provide a current legible copy of the registration certificate with show entries verifying registration status, age, gender and current ownership: a) Gypsy Vanner Horse Society (hereinafter referred to as GVHS) b) Gypsy Cob and Drum Horse Association (GCDHA) c) Gypsy Horse Registry of America (GHRA) d) Gypsy Horse Association (GHA) 3) Horses entered in any Drum Horse designated classes must be registered and restricted to horses of Gypsy, Clyde, Shire and/or Drum breeding only. A copy of the registration certificate, verifying age, gender and current ownership must be submitted with the entries. No purebred Gypsy horses can be entered/shown in the Drum Horse designated classes. Drum horse classes will be run in accordance with IDHA rules, unless OSF rules prevail. 4) No cross entering between Draft and Gypsy and/or Drum classes unless otherwise noted. 5) An ADULT Exhibitor is defined as an individual who has reached their 18 th birthday as of 1/1/ ) A YOUTH Exhibitor is defined as an individual who has NOT reached their 18 th birthday as of 1/1/ ) The same horse/rider combination cannot cross enter into both WALK/JOG or WALK/TROT classes AND classes requiring three gaits (i.e. Walk/Jog/Lope (or) Walk/Trot/Canter. 8) GREEN horse classes #41 and #67 are open to horses in their first competition year of showing in any performance discipline. (Refer to GVHS rules for additional information.) 9) Oklahoma State Fair premiums/prize money for the Gypsy and/or Drum Horse classes (Division 2126) will be paid in accordance with the following scale unless otherwise noted with each class. The purse will consist of 85% of all regular class entry fees paid to the OSF for all exhibitors entered, shown and judged in a specified class unless otherwise noted.
