James Dunn, Mark Fitzwater; J & G Electric John Scott, Rhodes Company Andy Benson, VHGA WORK IN PROGRESS: Electrical rough-in of Phase 1 is approximately 75% complete. Drywall subs are drywalling one side of walls. A color sample has been placed in the restrooms for the Principal to look at for the polished concrete. Plumbing rough-in for Phase 1 appears to be 100% complete. Soffit trim work is being completed on Phase 1. Insulation has been installed. Kitchen rough-in plumbing is 50% complete. Mechanical rough-in in the cafeteria is 70% complete. Site work is being completed on the MCR on the grading and paving. Framing contractor is on site, approximately 90% complete in Phase 1. Kauffman Fire Protection is also on site, approximately 75% complete. OBSERVATIONS: 1. A sample of the stained concrete floor was reviewed as in the restroom. Kevin Dillon and Andy agreed the sample had a good quality and good appearance. Later the sample was reviewed with Elisa, the Principal, who had decided to select a different color. Sumatra Brown is the color that she would like to use and there was a request made by the principal that a 25 percent, 50 percent and 75 percent sample be provided. The sample will be reviewed by Elisa and selection can be made at that time. 2. The gymnasium building was reviewed at the exterior walls to determine how the stucco could be applied over the insulation. It was determined that the foam insulation on the exterior walls would need to be mechanically fastened in order to provide an acceptable substrate for the stucco finish. 3. A scissor lift was provided to look above the ceiling in the gymnasium. The existing angle iron trusses were reviewed and measured. A solution for hanging the backstops will be provided. The intent will be for two I-beams to span from the exterior masonry wall to the top of the bottom cord of the steel truss. The structure of the basketball goals can be suspended from those wide flange beams. 4. The soffit panels around the exterior of the building were reviewed. Existing panels showed some with fence and some without fence. It s requested that all soffit panels be including vents. It s best for the space underneath the roof surface to be vented in all locations. 5. The ceiling in the cafeteria will be lowered to a height of 12 to make room for the fire protection and ductwork. 6. Kevin Dillon reviewed the flush valve control sensors and determined that the specified item will work for the District. 7. The contractor was concerned that the wood doors may not be arriving on schedule and has requested that the existing wood doors for the classrooms be utilized until the new ones arrive. All agreed this would acceptable. 8. There is a ramp in the corridor that is a 1 in 12 slope. A review of ANSI A indicated a handrail will be required on the North wall of the corridor for the full length of the ramp. 12 handrail extensions are not required because of an exception for renovations.
