1 East & Central European Regional Gaelic Football Championship Saturday, May 19thth, On behalf of the Prague Hibernians Gaelic Football Club, we are delighted to invite you to the Second Round of the Central and Eastern European Regional Gaelic Football Championship After the success of the previous round in Warsaw we expect a great competition throughout the day, with a great showcase of Gaelic Football skills from all over Europe. We are delighted to announce that the Irish Ambassador to Prague will be in attendance. Ambassador Kelly will throw in the first ball of the tournament and for the finals matches where will we will crown Central Europe's best teams in the mens and ladies categories. As well as being a constant presence throughout the tournament Ambassador Kelly will also be at the after-party for the presentation ceremony which starts at 8pm sharp and with the prizegiving shortly after afterwards. We are honoured to have her in our attendance and we wish her all the best in her new role. We are also delighted to announce that there will be a regional record of 10 teams participating in the tournament (6 mens & 4 ladies teams). It is a testament to the region as a whole that each and every club continues to successfully grow whilst showing true dedication in travelling for many hours to these tournaments all across Europe. Not only do we have Irish taking part but it has been noted that there is an increasing number of non-irish taking up the sport. 2 On the day Footwear: The MAIN PITCH is a grass rugby pitch with modified goals, so studded boots or blades are recommended for the day. PITCH 2 is an Astroturf pitch, so blades or Astroturf trainers are required. No steel capped studs will be permitted on PITCH 2. Directions to the pitch from the tram and bus stop are as follows: Trams numbered 6, 7, 22, 24 stop close by, while Buses numbered 135, 136, 150, 213 stop beside the stadium. Maps are on the following page. Registration on the day: - On Saturday morning the tournament will begin at 09.00am with registration at the information desk, distribution of lunch-packs and distribution of water. Matches will begin at 09.30am sharp. Payments and lunch-packs will be conducted during team registration so please have the correct amount of money available to pay for this. Schedules will also be available at the tournament desk when registering. The cost of registration, which includes your lunch-packs and water is 15 or if you have Czech money then that equates to 400 Kč. Changing Rooms: - On the day the changing rooms will have to be rotated for each team when they need them. There are 10 teams competing overall on the Saturday, and there simply isn t enough space to accommodate each of them. Bags should be kept with each person at all times and they are your own responsibility. Important Information: 1. Please let us know whether or not your team(s) will be participating by Monday, May 14th at the latest. 2. When confirming attendance please give an estimation of the numbers of people travelling to Prague. It is vitally important that you supply me with these numbers otherwise we will have to estimate the numbers with regards to lunch packs. People may end up losing out or we might be overstocked. 3. Please let us know whether your team will be arriving on the Friday night or the morning of the tournament.. 4. You will also need to nominate linesmen/women and umpires. 5. We will have two referees for the day, one for the mens tournament (Mel Lynam) & one ladies tournament (Tony Bass). - As I am sure you are all well aware, there are a lot of other sporting activities going on that day, and it has taken a lot of negotiation and hard work to find a top class location for the after party. We don t want to let anyone down on the day, so co-operation on everyone s part is paramount to the success of the day. - Please be ready when your match starts or whether your team is to conduct linesmen duties. As soon as one match finishes, get ready for the start of yours.

4 The Afterparty Location: Propaganda Iron Curtain Michalská 12, , Praha 1. 8pm Sharp, with prize giving shortly afterwards. This is a well renowned bar in the heart of the city center. This bar is a very popular place for expats within the city to enjoy a night out or to just have a few casual beers. With a great atmosphere, extensive selection of tasty alcohols, and live music, this bar is at the forefront of Prague nightlife. 5 At about midnight we can move across old town square to The Dubliner Tyn 1 Ungelt Prague 1 Stare Mesto The Dubliner: (The home of the Prague Hibernians), here we can indulge in the atmosphere of Prague s finest Irish Pub. You can expect great local and international drinks, warm hospitality, games room with a pool table, delicious food and live music in this pub.
