3 Monday: Stay and Play - term time only 9.45 to 11.15am (Hatton Hill) Led by parent volunteers, different activities and themes each week, with healthy snacks. Play Together - term time only 1.00 to 2.30pm (Hatton Hill) A dedicated playgroup for children with additional needs. Hearing Needs 1.15 to 2.15 (Litherland Moss) Sign language training for parents with children with hearing needs. Baby Massage 4 weeks starting on 13th Jan 1.30 to 2.30pm (Litherland Moss) Good for colic, bonding, relaxation and meeting other mums. Every Day First Aid One-off session, 3rd Feb 9.30 to (Litherland Moss) Delivered by the Red Cross. Learn how to avoid and handle accidents and incidents at home. Creche key to icons: Need to book

4 Back to work help The changes in government benefits and jobsearch rules are likely to have a big impact on some of our local families. Did you know that when your youngest child starts Reception you will be expected to be actively seeking work? Are you ready to do this? Are you confident enough to apply for jobs? Do you need work experience? Can you write a good CV? Do you need to improve your work skills? You can make an appointment (with a free crèche place) to see one of the Advisors from Work to help with your CV, arrange a work placement or get you onto the Families Programme to move you back towards getting a job. Computer skills All benefit claims and weekly job search has to be done online through a computer. Do you have the skills to be able to do it? Sign up for a course with the Bridge! Brush up your English Every Tuesday morning there is an English course running at the Bridge you can work at your own level towards a qualification or just brush up your abilities for work or for helping your child with their homework. A free crèche is available!

5 Tuesday: Creche - term time only Starts 7th Jan pm (Litherland Moss) NEW For parents who do the Budgeting sessions, enrol on the English course at the Bridge, take part in jobsearch or work placements with Work Budgeting and Debt 14th Jan and 21st Jan am (Litherland Moss) In these days of Welfare Reform and benefits changes, these excellent sessions are delivered by the CAB to help parents through this difficult time. Me n my baby for 6 weeks Starts 7th Jan am (Hatton Hill) A playgroup session for parents and babies up to walking stage. This 6 week course will comprise of 2 weeks of Rhyme Time, 2 weeks of Treasure Baskets and end with 2 weeks of Messy Play. A lovely session to play and bond with your baby. Clever Tots for 6 weeks Starts 25th Feb am (Hatton Hill) A playgroup session for parents and toddlers from 18 to 30 months. This 6 week course will comprise of 2 weeks Rhyme Time, 2 weeks of Messy Play and 2 weeks of Playing with Numbers. A lovely introduction to different sessions for you and your toddler. Baby Massage 4 week courses: check for dates pm (Hatton Hill) Run by Mandy our Midwife. Massage is good for colic, bonding, relaxation and meeting other mums. Baby Stay and Play pm (Hatton Hill) A play session run by Mandy our Midwife especially for young babies. Baby Health Club pm (Hatton Hill) Have your babies weighed and get advice from a Health Visitor. 6 2 Year Old Nursery Offer Did you know that if: you have a child over 2 AND you would be entitled to free school meals (check with us) you would be entitled to up to 15 hours a week free nursery education. Contact us to check whether you would be entitled and to complete a referral form. If you are not eligible we are running free Head Start Pre-Nursery Sessions during the term before your child is due to start their 3-yearold Foundation Nursery sessions.

Head Start - pre-nursery session for children 12 weeks term time only starts on 8th Jan pm (Litherland Moss) Sessions of different activities to help prepare your child to start nursery after Easter. Start Right pm (Hatton Hill) Sessions run by Families First. A fun and interactive play session to help your child s development. Do they ALL do that? As one dad told us, it is not the sort of thing you ask your mates over a pint! If you don t have the time or inclination to come to the Centre there is a page on our website especially for you information, advice and a chance for you to have your say Join the Virtual Dads Club now! Bosom Buddies pm (Hatton Hill) Breastfeeding support group. Breast feed in a relaxed, welcoming environment and gain information and advice on topics such as storing milk and breastfeeding friendly places around Sefton and Liverpool. Sing-along-a-tots 4 weeks starts 16th Jan pm (Litherland Moss) Rhymes, songs and music for you and your child, delivered by Linda Wooding. Diets Don t Work! 10 week course, starts 16th Jan includes optional weekly weigh-in pm (Hatton Hill) New Year, New Start sessions delivered by Active Life, to help you kickstart your healthy living decisions. 10 Friday: Childminders Playgroup 9.30 to 11.30am (Litherland Moss) Good opportunity for parents looking for home based childcare to meet local childminders. Positive Parenting Hints and Tips by appointment 9.30 to 10.30am (Hatton Hill) Book a 1:1 session to talk about a wide range of problems: temper tantrums, going shopping with children, bedtimes, and many more. Group Triple P 8 week Positive Parenting Programme, starts 24th Jan 9.30 to 11.30am (Hatton Hill) Courses are also run at other venues through the year ring for information for dates A great course covering a wide range of common behaviour problems, including tantrums, disobedience, going shopping with children, fighting and aggression. It explores a variety of strategies to choose from to help build parents confidence in dealing with these issues. A good way of talking to other parents about common problems and realising you are not alone! Every Day First Aid One-off session, 28th Feb 1.00 to 2.30pm (Hatton Hill) Delivered by the Red Cross. Chat and Relax 1.00 to 3.00pm (Hatton Hill) Drop in, have a cuppa, chat with other parents or one of our staff toys available for your little ones. Toddling and tumbling tots 4 weeks starts 10th Jan 1.30 to 2.30pm (Litherland Moss) A fun session of exercise, tumbling, climbing, and nursery rhymes with Andrea. Lights and sounds 4 weeks starts 28th Feb 1.30 to 2.30pm (Litherland Moss) A relaxing sensory experience for you and your child, lead by Andrea. key to icons: Creche Need to book

11 Parenting Support It is not easy being a parent. It s even harder being a really good parent but it is so rewarding to see your little ones grow and develop into happy, positive children who are keen to learn and are a pleasure to be around. The Triple P (Positive Parenting Programme) is an excellent course that can support you as a parent, building on your existing skills and knowledge of your own child. Those parents who have taken part say that it should be a compulsory part of having a child! Triple P will run throughout the year, so put your name down now and we will let you know the next start date. You can join a group with other parents, or do it on a one-to-one basis in the Centre or at your home. There is also a programme aimed at parents whose child has additional needs. Other Services Want to quit smoking? We can help! You can collect Healthy Start vitamins and drops at the Centre. Depending on your postcode, you might be eligible for free Home Safety Equipment. Signposting Do you have problems that are stopping you from doing the best for your family? If we can t help we know someone who can! We have links with specialists in domestic violence, housing and debt advice, counselling, family health and nutrition and a whole range more! Our Family Development Workers are available to help just ask.
