3 Expecting a baby? TENS machine hire Baby + Me Tuesday 1.30pm 2.30pm Oreston Link Site A group for babies under 9 months old with information and support for new parents Encourage your baby to learn and develop through gentle play opportunities. We are able to offer you the hire of a TENS machine for use in labour. You can order one at any time during your pregnancy and it will be available for you at 37 weeks for a 3 week period. This can be extended by a further 2 weeks if you let us know in advance. The cost is 25 which includes a 10 refundable deposit. Monday 1.15pm 2.30pm at Oreston Link Site Parent s Voice is a group of parents who get together to discuss the future of the Children s Centre as well as to make suggestions and discuss ways of improving services provided. Why not come along and share your views with us? This is a group aimed at babies who are learning to crawl, up until they start to walk. With active play, baby weighing, messy play and rhyme time, drop in and meet other parents and take the opportunity to talk to health professionals in an informal way. Family Information Service Free advice on a range of issues including childcare options and returning to work, tax credits and maternity benefits. Contact on for more details. Parent Volunteers Would you like to help in our groups, or set up a group of your own? We can offer support and training and it s a great way to meet new people and start to build a C.V.
5 Home Safety Workshop A one hour workshop to raise awareness of child safety and explore what you can do to reduce the risks for your children. Child safety how to reduce the risks. Safety advice tailored to your child s stage of development. Ideas and information on child proofing your home and garden. Free safety equipment for you to take home. Advice on buying toys and safety equipment. Thursday 26th January, 22nd March 1.30pm pm Thinking of doing something for yourself? Starting Thursday 12th January we will be offering a free 10 week course in Adult Numeracy leading to a level 1 or 2 qualification. For more information contact Plymstock Children s Centre on Latch on Group Wednesday 10.30am 12:00 A friendly and informal group for all pregnant or breastfeeding mums. Partners are also welcome. Come along to meet other breastfeeding mums and make new friends, as well as getting support from peers and advice from health professionals. Bra fitting may be available too. 50p donation per session Buggy Walking Every Thursday Morning (All year round whatever the weather) Meet at Saltram by the Notice Board at the entrance to the inner car park Any age child or baby in a buggy Enjoy the route at Saltram, the duck pond and the river Plym. Exercise with your child in their Buggy - you can enjoy the exercise with other people to talk to, while your child enjoys the relaxation of being outdoors in the fresh air!. Power walk with fatbusting and toning exercises, using bands and the buggy as resistance. Designed for all levels of fitness, particularly for those who have not exercised since the birth of baby. The class takes place on cycle tracks and pathways so does not need any specialist all terrain pram or buggy per session

It is a wonderful way to get to know each other, deepening and strengthening your relationship. Massage helps to reduce stress and irritability, promoting relaxation for you and your baby. To qualify for a FREE pack families must be in receipt of benefits and meet the Sure Start vulnerabilities criteria. Tension is tightened up to fit a doorway whilst fixed is screwed to the wall.

I am always willing to listen and offer support and advice when necessary. Do drop in for chat! A problem shared is a problem halved. Phone to book your place and find out dates! 1.50 per session Come and join Role of the Outreach Worker Providing support and guidance on any issue of parenting. They can offer advice on positive parenting, strategies regarding difficult behaviour, i.e. guidance and boundaries, routines, fussy eaters and any other topic you feel you need help and support with. They may also be able to provide support and help on a wide range of issues such as housing, debt, separation etc They are either available to talk to during Children s Centre sessions, community visits or can arrange home visits. 8 Weaning Workshop Come along to a one hour workshop for lots of advice and information about this exciting new stage in your baby s development. Welcome to Cook and Eat Do you want ideas, advice and support about how to cook fun and tasty food that your kids will love without breaking the bank? To learn practical cookery skills on a budget? Then this may be for you. Contact the Children s Centre to find out dates for the next session. Every Monday for 5 weeks starting: 1 per session Early Play Drop in session for babies and toddlers with their parents/carers. Lots of activities for your children to enjoy including Messy play and Rhyme time, also a snack cafe. So come along and join the fun!! 9 Step by Step Together Thursday 9:30am - 10:45am 0-4 years Twins Club The Step by Step Together Groups are for children with any form of developmental delay and any form of additional need aged 0-4 years old with their parents or carers. The groups are run as drop-ins with weekly stand alone sessions that have a different theme every week designed to encourage the growth of all aspects of a child s development. Term time only. 50p donation per session. It is good to meet other parents who have children with similar problems and to talk about them. It is also good for the children to get together to play and develop together. Step By Step Parent Tuesdays at pm Term time only. Friendly drop in group for families with 0-5 year old twins and their siblings.
10 Tumble Time for Tots months Wednesday 9.30am 10am Tumble Time Wednesday 10am - 11:00am Meet at (however, we have use of Dunstone School Hall for this session) Active play with your toddler or young child, using soft play, games and activities. Help them to burn off all that energy while developing their confidence and co-ordination! Balance and slide; jump and climb; throw and play! The first half hour is for the younger children, followed by an hour session for the older ones. There are overlaps, but it gives the little ones a better opportunity to use the equipment. Experienced workers guide the children around the equipment and activities. Join in and encourage your child to stretch their skills. Term time only 1.50 per session Drop In and Play Wednesday 1:15pm 2.30pm 0-5 years Older brothers and sisters are welcome, but the activities are designed for under 5 s. Family Fun 10am th March Fun activities for one or both parents/carers and your children 1 donation per session Kids & Dads 28th January 10am - 12pm Come along to a play session with a difference! Just for dads with their children. 1 donation per session Drop in session for babies and toddlers with their parents and carers. Play session with messy play, rhyme time and outside activities when possible. 50p donation per session Different Fun Activities will be available during School Holidays.
