2 Overview This course provides a contemporary update of management strategies of head and neck cancer, using a multidisciplinary approach. Lectures and panels will provide a forum for discussion of updated therapies and new treatment innovations. Learning Objectives Upon completion of this activity, the participant will be able to: Highlight the importance and necessity of the multidisciplinary approach in the treatment of head and neck cancer. Update his/her knowledge regarding modern surgical techniques. Identify, review and illustrate the appropriate use of intensification with radiation and chemotherapy in pharyngeal cancer care. Identify emerging risks of HVP infections of the H&N cancer patient. Recognize and diagnose pharyngeal cancer within the context of contemporary HPV infection etiology. Manage appropriate referral decisions. Target Audience Head and Neck Surgeons, Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Residents, and Nurses involved in the diagnosis and treatment of the Head and Neck Cancer Patient. Accreditation The Foundation Center for Continuing Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education to physicians. The Foundation Center for Continuing Education designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Participants claiming CME credit from this activity may submit the credit hours to the American Osteopathic Association for Category 2 credit.
