2 Transformers for supplying equipments away Type TSA transformers are used to power the receivers far from LV sources. The choice of a lower than 1000 V voltage enables the transportation of low power through a few km. Thoses transformers are watertight, IP68, they are meant to be installed in a pit or a substation PTS type. 230 V 950 V 230 V TSA MMC Step up TSA MMC Step down This type of distribution enables to reduce the voltage drop and thus to transport energy through high distances. The electrical protection is adapted, the voltage use is adjusted. Those transformers allow : The use of LV cablesu1000 R2V or equivalent. The reduction of cable sections. ADVANTAGES OF EPOXY RESINS The use of epoxy resin guarantees transformers type : Corrosion resistant, without any alteration in the future. Watertight and immersible. Insulating. 3 DOUBLE «AUTO» PROTECTED TRANSFORMERS : Electrical protection, directly incorporated in the transformers enable : Step up transformers : 230 V side, the transformer is no protected, a circuit breaker must be installed in the general LV cabinet, insuring the supply and protection of the step-up transformer. 950 V side, 950 V network protection by an HPC fuse easily accessible. Thermal protection by a thermal probe 105 C 2A V, cable output, 6 meters long. This probe is connected to the cable release spool (MX type) of the above circuit breaker. Step down transformers : 950 V side, not protected, the fuse is replaced by a shunt. A LV protection, by a magneto-thermal circuit breaker, enables the protection against short-circuits. This circuit breaker is equipped with a MX spool, on which the thermical probe is connected. 950 V fuse or shunt, to remove with a n 32 tube key after disabling of watertighting screw 16 fins. Step down transformers : LV circuit breaker with MX cable release associated with the thermal probe. THE «PLUS» OF TSA TRANSFORMERS : Adjustment taps +/- 5 % are installed on the transformers. Primary voltage : 230 V Primary winding insulation level : 1100 V Secondary no-load voltage : 970 V Secondary winding insulation level : 1100 V Coupling : Single-phase / single-phase Dielectric : Oil Power rating : , kva Reduces inrush current PRIMARY AND SECONDARY CONNECTIONS On a type H07 RNF cable 6 meters long. Cross-section depends on power rating. TAP CHANGER FOR VOLTAGE ADJUSTMENT Adjustment by straps, off voltage, taps +/- 5 %. PRIMARY PROTECTION None. However, thermal probe control is set up incorporated to the winding output on H07 RNF cable, 6 meters long. 230 V sectionning by two shunts. SECONDARY PROTECTION By an HRC fuse. PRIMARY AND SECONDARY ELETRICAL POSI- TION The winding is not connectd to earth potential, on request, the secondary neutral can be connected to the earth plug. EARTHING TERMINAL By means of a M10 threaded brass rod connected to the transformer core. DIELECTRIC TESTING Power frequency withstand voltage: 3 kv - 50 Hz - 1 minute. OPERATING CONDITIONS Those transformers are designed to be placed in pit which may flood. Able to withstand to at level IP 68 - EN standard - (temporary immersion in water level under 500 mm over the terminals). Cross-section depends on power rating. TAP CHANGER FOR VOLTAGE ADJUSTMENT Adjustment by straps, off voltage, taps +/- 5 %. PRIMARY PROTECTION None But cut-off provided by a shunt. SECONDARY PROTECTION Two-pole circuit breaker insuring direct magnetic protection and thermal probe protection incorporated to the winding. PRIMARY AND SECONDARY ELETRICAL POSITION The winding is not connectd to earth potential, on request, neutral, primary or secondary connected to earthing terminal. 7 DIMENSIONS OF CONCRETE PREFABRICATED PITS RECOMMENDED Transformers Power rating INTERLOCKING PRINCIPLE An interlocking key must enable to forbid the access to the transformer as long as the LV circuit breaker is no locked open. PIT LOCKING The locking key allows to use the security screw 7 which frees the grill placed inside the pit. Those accessories enable to insure the voltage absence and earthing checking and short-circuit of the 950 V network.
