1 Operating principle, characteristics Preventa safety s types XPS AV,, For and switch monitoring Operating principle Safety s XPS AV, and are used for monitoring circuits conforming to standards EN/ISO 850 and EN and also meet the safety requirements for the electrical monitoring of switches in protection devices conforming to standard EN 088. They provide protection for both the machine operator and the machine by immediately ping the dangerous movement on receipt of a instruction from the operator, or on detection of a fault in the safety circuit itself. Characteristics Module type In addition to the category 0 instantaneous opening safety ( for XPS AV, for and for ), the s incorporate category time delay ( for XPS AV, for and for ) which allow for controlled deceleration of the motor components until a complete is achieved (for example, motor braking by variable speed drive). At the end of the preset delay, the supply is disconnected by opening the time delay output circuits. For XPS AV, the time delay of the output circuits is adjustable, in 5 preset values, between 0 and 00 seconds using selector buttons. For, the time delay of the output circuits is adjustable between 0.5 and seconds or.5 and 0 seconds, depending on the model, using a selector switch. For, the time delay of the output circuits is adjustable between 0 and 0 seconds using a -position selector switch. Module XPS AV also incorporates solid-state signalling for signalling to the process PLC. Module incorporates 4 solid-state signalling for signalling to the process PLC. To aid diagnostics, the s have LEDs which provide information on the monitoring circuit status. The button monitoring function is confi gurable depending on the wiring.
