2 The Saint Agnes Women s Club The Saint Agnes Women s Club is a group of more than 90 women who raise money specifically for Saint Agnes Holy Cross Center for Women, a friendly and peaceful haven for homeless women and children who have nowhere else to turn. Since their inception in 1977, the Women s Club has generated more than $1 million for the Holy Cross Center for Women. Each year, their fundraising events attain a new level of success with the involvement and financial support from their members, individuals and businesses who all share a heart for the Holy Cross Center for Women. The challenge of making a small difference in the lives of the underserved women and children of Fresno is as constant as their enthusiasm in their continuing efforts to help. Through the group s fundraising efforts, the Women s Club exemplifies its slogan of Women Helping Women.

3 The Holy Cross Center for Women The Holy Cross Center for Women has been providing a safe haven for poor and homeless women and their children in downtown Fresno since Sponsored by Saint Agnes Medical Center and the Sisters of the Holy Cross, the Center provides food, clothing, laundry and shower facilities, educational and recreational activities and medical services, as well as a peaceful respite from the street. Depending on the time of year, an average of women and children use the facilities each month. In one month alone, the Center provides more than 600 articles of clothing, 690 showers, and 255 loads of laundry. No questions are asked, no explanations are required everyone is welcome. The women who come to the Center are predominantly young, impoverished, minority women with children. Their lives are challenged with unemployment, poverty, racism, addiction, fear, lack of education, low self-esteem, and homelessness. Some come back week after week; others come to meet a temporary need. Regardless, they are always welcome and services are free to all.

4 Diaper Drive Diaper Drive: April 29 - May 31, 2014 La Petite Tea: May 18, 2014 One of the many ways Holy Cross Center for Women helps people in need is by supplying diapers to families who can t afford them. In one month alone, the Center can only provide 24 diapers per child to more than 300 children totaling 7,200 diapers per month. This adds up to a staggering $2,500 per month. The Diaper Drive gives a big boost to this diaper supply through collecting diapers and money. Since the Diaper Drive s inception the Women s Club have collected more than 500,000 diapers and over $200,000 in cash for the Center. This community-wide event grows each year and increases community awareness about the outreach efforts taking place at the Center. 6 Fashion Show Saturday, October 25, 2014 Location: Fresno Convention Center Valdez Hall Held at the Fresno Convention Center, the Fashion Show has become Fresno s premier Fashion event and the Saint Agnes Women s Club s largest annual fundraiser with over 600 tickets sold. Guests enjoy cocktails, a gourmet lunch, and a live music with live and silent auctions and the latest and hottest fashions from Fresno s finest stores and boutiques.
